10 of the Gayest TV Shows & Movies To Stream This May

BREAKING NEWS

As we all learned from the memes over the past few days, May is here! Bring on the warm spring weather, flowers, and a whole new slate of titles on the streamers, so we can stay inside on the couch where we belong. There is a new season of Stranger Things, a new Rebel Wilson comedy, and of course, another iteration of the Michael Peterson crime story, this time starring Colin Firth and Toni Colette (I’ll watch anything with my girl Toni), but what is being added this month can’t be missed? I’ve done the work for you and picked out the gayest—fabulous and campy as well as hot and steamy—titles coming this May, so make sure you check out the below!

The Circle Season 4 (Netflix)

If you haven’t watched this addictive reality program yet, girl you better catch up. Not only is this social experiment fascinating and entertaining, but the fine casting folks at Netflix typically tend to grace us with some mouthwatering eye-candy. We come for the drama but hang around for the occasional VPL or bulge.

Outlander Season 5 (Netflix)

Our favorite historical hotties are back at it and they are fucking in windows and stables and battlefields and giving life-saving handjobs. Re-live some of the hottest moments from season five and enjoy the pause and rewind feature to your heart’s content. Now, who do we talk to at Netflix about getting a zoom-in feature?

Soul Surfer (Netflix)

If you missed this when it debuted in 2011, now is your chance to enjoy this epic piece of campy fodder based on the true story of Bethany Hamilton, the surfer who lost her arm in a shark attack but kept on surfing anyway. Did I mention Carrie Underwood is featured in a supporting role? If that alone isn’t worth the 106-minute run time, Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid also star in the film which is more than enough.

Mamma Mia! (Amazon Prime)

If you need a feel-good, pick-me-up, campy and gay romp, look no further than the film adaption of the smash Broadway musical Mamma Mia. This movie has it all, Meryl Streep, hot daddies like Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth, the fabulous Christine Baranski, and some sexy Greek chorus boys dancing in speedos on a dock.

Conversations with Friends (Hulu)

You can use your tears as lube to masturbate to this depressing and sad but equally steamy, sex-filled show starring the scrumptious Joe Alwyn. This is your chance to show your support for the L in LGBTQ and still get some hot eye candy while you’re doing it. And in all seriousness, this is the second major adaptation from Sally Rooney (Normal People) and promises to be emotionally charged and deliver excellent representation for the LGBTQ community in mainstream entertainment.

Real Housewives of New York City, Complete Season 13 (Hulu)

Can we all just collectively take a moment and thank Hulu for providing us with our RHONY fix while we anxiously await the new drama of The Real Housewives? Also, who could look away from a car wreck? Season 13 famously crashed and burned the Bravo brand and now we await the Season 14 reboot. Until then, Andy Cohen appreciates your loyalty to the brand.

Candy (Hulu)

If you haven’t had enough of the drama series based on true crime genre yet, then Candy, starring Jessica Biel and Melanie Lynskey should be right up your alley. What makes it gay? Well, apart from the camp factor and Jessica Biel’s wig, the series also includes Pablo Schreiber (the tall drink of water from Orange is the New Black), Timothy Simons (the tall drink of water from Veep), and Raul Esparza (the bi-sexual stud from Broadway & SVU). Now that’s a threesome I would be thrilled to join.

Spring Awakening: Those You’ve Know, documentary premiere (HBO)

In 2006, Spring Awakening premiered on Broadway and gave a whole young generation of theater queens an outlet for their angst and despair. Between the racy content, the punk rock/Broadway hybrid sound, and the sexually-charged gay storyline, this musical really made an impact and launched the careers of stars like gay villain Lea Michele, gay icon Jonathan Groff, and gay fantasy Skyler Astin. They all reunite for this special documentary and are sure to pull on some heartstrings, while you might be pulling on some other things.

Hacks Season 2 (HBO)

Jean Smart is the epitome of a Gay Icon (from Designing Women to The Brady Bunch Movie and everything in between), and the much-anticipated season 2 of her runaway hit show Hacks promises to be even more fabulous. We even wrote up a whole piece on why you should tune in to this hilarious comedy.

Angelyne (Peacock)

Before people like Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton were famous just for being famous, there was Angelyne, LA’s mysterious billboard queen. Emmy Rossum stars in this miniseries about the icon who took Sunset Blvd by storm. Bonus—the show also features the weirdly hot Lukas Gage, whose ass you may remember from the infamous rim job scene in HBO’s The White Lotus.
