Drag Race All Stars Season 8 Recap: Episode 11, The Fame Games Variety Extravaganza

DRAG RACE

Jordan Jayro's Reviews of RuPaul's Drag Race

Hello, hello, hello! Welcome back to another recap of the greatest show on television: RuPaul’s Drag Race! This week we’re talking about All Stars 8 episode 11 “The Fame Games Variety Extravaganza”! Last week the queens did makeovers on lesbians. Kandy was the top all-star of the week, and ended up sending Jessica Wild home! Now that you’re all caught up, let’s get into this week’s episode! The top two queens are back in the werk room after Jessica Wild’s elimination! It is so weird having a werk room with only two queens! Most finales have at least three queens! But this isn’t technically the finale! So what could possibly be happening?

It’s a new day in the werk room and Jimbo and Kandy are all alone! Until RuPaul enters and tells them that they could use some company! You guessed it! The elimination queens are back! Now it’s time for the reading challenge! Finally! Some of my standouts were Jaymes Mansfield, Mrs. Kasha Davis, and Kandy Muse. The winner of the mini-challenge is Mrs. Kasha Davis! Now Ru tells the queens that today is all about the eliminated queens! For this week’s maxi challenges, each of the queens will do solo performances in The Fame Games Variety Show Extravaganza! Jimbo and Kandy will not be competing, but will be hosting the show!

Let’s talk about the Fame Games Variety Show! Did anyone else clock RuPaul wearing her season 15 promo look? So gorgeous! Okay, so the first queen up was Monica Beverly Hillz! She did a cute lip sync to an original track. The song itself was concerning. But she looked amazing!

Next was Naysha Lopez! She did a fierce Spanish dance number! It felt a little slow and too short. I’m not sure if that was just edited for time, but it felt like we got a really cool opening and not much else. I loved her hair though! And the face is always correct!

Then Kasha Davis did her number. She did a really funny lip sync to an original track. I loved her outfit and performance. She did wear flats, and I’m trying to be forgiving. But they didn’t even match the outfit! At least cover them with the same fabric!

Darienne Lake was next! She came out and did what she does best: comedy. This woman delivered some fierce jokes! Darienne is one of the few queens who can just tell jokes on the mic and captivate a crowd. And she looked beautiful!

Next was Jaymes Mansfield, who also did a lip sync to an original track. The song was amazing! It was so funny, with reveals and jokes and sexy dancers! I loved her performance a lot. Her final outfit didn’t fit perfectly, but that’s just me splitting hairs. She slayed.

Kahanna Montrese did her performance next. She did a fierce cheerleader-themed performance with fierce stunts and flips. Her outfit and hair were so cute! And this number was so high-energy! I loved it!

Next was Lala Ri! She did a lip sync to an original rap! She ate this rap and this choreography! I will be buying a ticket to her show! Get me that presale code! Everything was flawless down to her hair and outfit. We need a Lala Ri album yesterday!

Next up was Alexis Michelle! She sang a little diddy for us! It was very Broadway! And I loved it! It’s the true Alexis Michelle Experience! The mic was on, she sounded great, and she had a reveal and a split!

Last but not least was Jessica Wild! She gave us everything we needed! High-energy dance with lots of hair flips and an original track with some cleverly autotuned vocals. Honey that wig was going nowhere! She’s such an icon!

Now the top two get to perform just for fun! Jimbo was first! She made an ice cream sundae using various parts of her body. The banana was in her butt, the whipped cream came out of her boobs, and I’ll let you guess where the cherry came from. Next was Kandy Muse! She did a cunty lip-sync with a lot of New York City Ballroom influence. Her hair is always amazing! And they gave her wind! I love it! And her pink bra and panty set was fierce.

The top two all stars of the week are Lala Ri and Jaymes Mansfield! Now they must lip-sync for their legacy! They lip-sync to “Rain On Me’ by Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande. Jaymes Mansfield wins the lip sync! And guess what?! Lala Ri is also a winner! Now they both get to spin the wheel to see if their fan votes will be multiplied! Jaymes is up first, and her votes will be multiplied by two! Lala Ri is up next, and her fan votes will be multiplied by three! Tune in next week to see who will be crowned the Queen of The Fame Games, and who will walk away with a coveted spot in the Drag Race Hall of Fame!
