It’s ludicrous, ridiculous, patronizing, and offensive.

He’s playing the “ever elusive straight guy” card to the hilt. Just as in dealing with this type of guy in real life, we’re sick of the cocktease, but still hovering just in case he decides to go further.

    I also don’t like him. He actually has a lot of resentment towards gay men. I met him a few years back when he was dating a (female) friend of mine. Strangely, he lives in my area, and travels out to LA and the SGV to shoot his videos. He’s really cocky and a total tweaker. I admit he is kinda hot, but his personality and bad habits really turn me off. Plus he totally screwed my friend over when he dumped her, but a lot of out gay friends warned her.     I could reply to all three comments below, but I think what I write will easily encompass all three Beware, this is a long posting and for those of you who think I’m some shallow, silly homo, this will probably make you look at me in a whole other way (ha!):

    I despise Cody Cummings. Yes, I can sit here and be shallow and say that the man has a nice body and a decent cock. But as folks have said below — and Cedric above — he is clearly nothing more than a guy who knows that his cock and body fuel the fantasies of gays and so he’s willing to think of the money and “prestige”(ha!) that it gets him as being one of the major “faces” of Next Door Entertainment.

    When I got the newsletter from Falcon announcing that they were doing a joint feature with Next Door starring Cody Cummings and Trystan Bull, my heart sank. This is EXACTLY what I was afraid would happen when Christopher Ward and his investors bought Falcon; they’d start trashing the prestige of the Falcon line. We’ve already seen a diminished “return” from the core line (The Other Side of Aspen VI is my primary example there) and though I will grudgingly acknowledge that the “reboot” of the Jocks line shows promise, I haven’t seen a marked increase toward the halcyon days of the late 80s/90s when you had future superstars like Matthew Rush, Tristan Paris, etc making their start there and then later migrating over to the Falcon line.

    It can be argued that there are existing Falcon stars who are gay-for-pay; I’m not disputing that there are. However, promoting Cummings and Bull to the degree that Falcon is (and I say that because all I get are Falcon/Raging Stallion emails; I don’t get anything from Next Door Entertainment, so I can’t say how much promotion they’re doing on this front), it sets a VERY…well, “fucked-up” precedent.

    I would be infinitely more comfortable if Next Door Entertainment took total point on this and promoted the movies without Falcon taking part at all, save for Next Door Entertainment stating that Falcon volunteered/donated the services of their superstars (call them “special guest stars,” whatever). That’s been done before, with All Worlds Entertainment, I believe (before Chi Chi LaRue bought them out and started the whole Channel One Releasing juggernaut). That way the Falcon brand isn’t diminished as much as I feel it’s going to be now.

    Gay-for-pay’s not going away, not as long as studios like Corbin Fisher, Sean Cody, etc are around. But taking a veteran porn studio like Falcon — who has weathered the dissolution and mergers of many of its fellow studios over the years, until it finally “gave in” and merged with Raging Stallion — and outright soiling it by using blatant gay-for-pay models like Cummings and Bull as the signature stars of this joint venture…this is a very bad thing — ESPECIALLY since neither one of them are even in Falcon’s employ! (Why not let Next Door Entertainment focus on their models and Falcon promote Landon Conrad or another Falcon star? That would appear to make more sense to me.)

    If there is anyone from Falcon out there who’d like to go on the record as explaining the rationale about this, I’d love to hear it. I’m just concerned that in six months, we’re going to see more “compromises” by Falcon — a return to bareback, or a massive infusion of “Cummings-esque” models who are clearly in for the money and nothing else.

    Falcon’s had its stumbles, but at this point, it is the last of the original gay porn studios. While remaining static in a dynamically changing industry would be its death knell and Chris Ward knows that — hence the modifications to the Jocks and Mustang lines, along with the core Falcon line — too many changes to this venerable brand will just hasten its demise. And then what will we have left?
