Daniel Craig Goes Queer

Daniel Craig finally does anal! Well, kind of. The official trailer for Luca Guadagnino's film Queer has dropped and it is nothing but breathtaking. The film hasn't even come out yet, but early reviews have been glowing saying this is Daniel Craig's best screenwork to date. The film is about cruising, love, and sex in a past era. Guadagnino also brought us Call Me By Your Name and Challengers so we know the film is bound to have some hot sexual moments between Craig and his costar, Drew Starkey. It is also bound to be heartbreaking.

Queer is based on the 1985 novella of the same name by William S. Burroughs. Daniel Craig stars as an expat named Lee who is living in Mexico in the 1940s. His life changes when he locks eyes on the younger man Eugene (played by Starkey). Lee is a bit aggressive in his advances towards Eugene who, at first, is not too receptive. The two end up having a love affair that takes them on a dangerous trip into the jungle.

The film premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival and opens in limited theaters on November 27th. Guadagnino has called Queer his most personal film and calls the sex scenes numerous and quite scandalous. They auditioned over 300 actors for the role of Eugene before casting Starkey. The chemistry between Starkey and Craig is said to leap off the screen. Take a look at the trailer:

Craig in interviews has said he is glad to return to sensually provocative films like this, having done some very explicit work in his early career. In addition to his sex scenes with Starkey, his character also has other illicit encounters. Craig dove into the intimacy of the sex scenes and did not shy away from the camera. He said they wanted to make the sex scenes as natural and real as possible.

Guadagnino continues to push the envelope through art. His films have a signature style to them, but all celebrate sexuality. And this is not the first time Craig has done full frontal. He's been very liberal with his skintastic scenes and, at age 56, we love to celebrate the more mature man. From Bond to gay sex, we are fans!
