Display Magazine Makes Gay Tourism Look Like A Blast

We cannot wait to be in one of those middle aged, upper-middle class DINK gay couples that you see in photo shoots like this one. But then, there are probably a lot of partnered, middle-aged gays thinking the same thing.

Swiss gay magazine Display brings us this unbearably and/or unrealistically cute portrait of gay couple on vacation. They're so European! And wealthy! And white! And attractive! We imagine that for a lot of gay couples this shoot is actually an approximation of reality—reproductively incompatible genitalia means no accidental pregnancy means no kids before you're done going on awesome vacations like this one.

But let's face it, in real life this mid-20s model-couple would probably be too emotionally and financially unstable to maintain the kind of relationship that involves vacationing together. By the time they would be able to do that sort of thing they'd probably be paunchy and irrepressibly resentful of one another. It looks like we've finally gotten to the point where magazines and advertisements are portraying impossible ideals for gay couples, too! We choose to call this progress.
