Paris Olympics Trying To Prevent Athletes From Having Sex

Paris will be the home of this year's Summer Olympics and though seen as one of the most romantic cities in the world, they really don't want the athletes having sex this year. Like, not at all. Who knew people hooking up was such a big issue? LOL.

Apparently, athletes having sex has been a major concern at past Summer Olympics. The Tokyo Olympic Games implemented cardboard beds that were said to be environmentally friendly, but athletes have been vocal saying they believe they were actually introduced to prevent people from having sex on them. Paris Olympics reported that they will be installing 16,000 of these cardboard beds for the upcoming Olympics.

Some athletes have taken to social media to show that these beds, even though flimsy, can still hold the weight and activities of an athlete (or two).

Athletes staying at Tokyo’s Olympic Village have been posting images of their ‘cardboard’ beds online. The Tokyo Games handbook called for athletes to “avoid unnecessary forms of physical contact such as hugs, high-fives and handshakes” and also prevented alcohol sales (we know how straight guys love a blowjob after a few beers) and even handed out fewer condoms than the Rio Games.

Apparently, Grindr use goes up heavily in the Olympic Village. So much so that Grindr has implemented privacy protocols during the Games to protect gay athletes from being outed. A TikTok and Twitter trend had influencers posting Grindr profiles of athletes. One video showed 30 profiles of athletes. Grindr now limits the Explore feature to only those actually in the Olympic Village. TikTok and Twitter did their part by removing such videos. As we know, a number of countries that are represented at the Olympics still have homosexuality as an illegal act. 163 openly LGBTQ athletes took part in the Tokyo Games.

We know how crafty the gays can be. If they want to hook up, they will find a way, cardboard beds or not. We know that Tom Daley will be making his last Olympics appearance this summer, and we'd love to see his profile 145 feet away from us on Grindr!
