Men’s Fashion Trends for 2024

We are well on our way into the New Year and men’s fashion trends are starting to solidify for 2024. We are seeing a big shift from the casual wear that became the business standard during the pandemic. No more lounge pants at the office! We scoured fashion industry chat to bring you the biggest predictions in men’s wear this year. What’s in your closet?

Jeans

Throw out those skinny jeans asap! No need for them in a long time. Skinny is out, and straight-legged or relaxed jeans (with a rolled-up cuff at the bottom) are what’s in for this year. Though we will miss seeing those super-tight pants and hot bulges, skinny jeans were being taken over by douchey guys.

Beanies

Believe it or not, beanies are on their way back. What was considered regular wear by the skater community in the 90s is now on its way back as part of a man’s headgear must-haves. To be honest, we aren’t the biggest fans of beanies, it smashes our hair down and unless you have a beautifully sculpted face, you can look like a frog as it hugs your head like a condom tip.

Muted Tones

Colors and loud patterns will take a back seat to more somber colors and more severe structures. As we mentioned, the more casual wear will return to business-themed as we still try and go back to normal before COVID. Fashionable and well-cut suits will see a big return. Does our still fit? Oy. Back to black will be the easiest go-to as it will be considered fashionable to be head to toe in black. The fun is over!

Crop Tops

Shorter-length shirts and jackets will be the norm, especially since high-waisted pants have already started to make their return. You can either go full crop top version with some abs showing, or we can just hover the hem right about the waist. Cropped shirts will work for the casual side, and cropped jackets can be thrown over a dress shirt and pants, with or without a tie. For those of us who still have our COVID fifteen pounds (or more!), this is not welcome news. Cue the Spanx!

Oxfords

Oxford button-downs will see a big resurgence as well. Muted patterns and classic crispness, these can be worn with khakis or jeans, perfect for a casual day at the office or date night. There’s not much personality in these kinds of shirts, but there you have it!

Get Unisexy

We’ve seen a lot of fashion gender play on the red carpets by celebrities over the last couple of years. This will bleed over into mainstream menswear as shoes, belts, and even watches will start to look more feminine, or unisex. Shoes with a bit of a heel on them will not be out of the norm, and even shirts can be billowy and flowing, like a blouse. Nail polish is being celebrated by men more and more, regardless of sexual orientation.

All in all, simplicity will be the major thing to consider regarding this year’s fashion. Keep it simple, sleek, and streamlined. Nothing too flashy, nothing too clunky, and nothing too loud. Did someone tell Ross Mathews? LOL.

Which of these fashion trends will you try out first?
