At this point there's every type of dating show you can imagine. They include everything from roses, to millionaires, to dating shows where you never even see the other peoples' faces. And for United Kingdom, every single one of them has been straight... until now!
BBC3 announced their new show, I Kissed A Boy in May of 2022. Hosted by Australian pop icon Dannii Minogue (Kylie's sister) as "Cupid," and narrated by Layton Williams (Bad Education, Everybody’s Talking About Jamie), I Kissed A Boy begins with an incredibly simple premise: the guys are paired up and they kiss. What type of kiss is up to them... Undoubtedly, said kiss will lay the mood for the pair going forward. Is it awkward? Is it deep and passionate? Will one guy go for the cheek and the other goes for the tongue? The drama.
And like any dating show, all of the interpersonal factors will come to the surface. Those factors take on another level when we remember all the complexities of being gay. For some, this will be their first gay kiss!
