Jordan Jayro’s Drag Race Season 15 Recap: Episode 14, Blame It On The Edit

DRAG RACE

Jordan Jayro's Reviews of RuPaul's Drag Race

Hello, my gorgeous little cherubs! Another week has passed! And it’s time for us to discuss the most recent episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race! This is technically the last episode before the grand finale! I can only imagine what must be going through the queens’ heads right now. Only one challenge stands between them and the finale, where someone will be crowned! Let’s get right into it!

The queens have returned to the werk room after Loosey’s elimination. Luxx swiftly accuses her of playing a messy game, all because of the way Loosey assigned the makeovers last week. At least Loosey was able to finally admit that she was being shady and strategic with her choices. Now Anetra and Sasha Colby both have three challenge wins! Luxx and Mistress are right behind them though! There is only one challenge separating the queens from the grand finale! At this point, I don’t want to see anyone go! This episode is going to be a doozy!

It’s a brand new day in the werk room! The top four divas have strutted in and are immediately confronted by a video message from Mama Ru! It is laced with puns that make virtually no sense at all. But she looks great! Then suddenly, "hello, hello, hello!" RuPaul enters the werk room and tells the queens that they will be collaborating with RuPaul on her song “Blame It On The Edit”. They will write and record a fierce verse, and then shoot a music video!! And on top of that, we’re getting TicTac lunches this season!! I’m so excited about this! Ru says that only three of them will make it to the grand finale, so they better bring it!

Sasha gets her TicTac lunch first! She talked about being from Hawaii and living in Chicago. She’s truly an icon, and it’s so nice to hear her share about herself. Sasha shared that she has a strained relationship with her mother. And the death of her father. We have no choice but to stan this woman.

Anetra is next! She talks about growing up Mormon. Michelle said that Anetra’s lip sync with Marcia was her favorite of all time. That’s a solid choice! She really is a fierce performer! I’ve been telling you all, these Vegas girls do not play!! She has the fiercest walk ever.

Mistress is up next for her sit-down chat with Ru and Michelle. She talked about being a quiet kid and growing into an outspoken adult. She dragged Loosey for not being consistent on and off camera. RuPaul referred to it as being an undercover cunt. Consider that stolen!

Finally, Luxx gets to sit with mommy and daddy. Ru immediately comments on her werk room outfit. She does serve looks in the werk room! Luxx and Michelle bonded over being from New Jersey. Luxx spoke about getting her confidence from her parents. I need some of that! Pass some over this way!

The time has come to shoot the music video for “Blame It On The Edit” and Mistress is a little lost. Everyone else seems to be slaying though! Michelle tells the queens that they will shoot the video right after learning the choreography! We love a twist! They really don’t have time to shoot these episodes. I have to remind myself that each episode takes two days to shoot.

Let’s talk about the runway! Anetra looked great! I think this is her best look all season! I love the blue gown, it was very regal and classy, but still very Anetra! Her spiky hair is so flawless! I can tell she’s been waiting to wear this garment!

Luxx wore a white dress. It looked like she got it from David’s Bridal! I wonder if she just ran out of clothes. She still looked beautiful though! We’re all so used to Luxx having really strong runways, but this was not her best.

Sasha came out in her immaculate drag excellence! I loved her giant bracelets! It was very evening category! And I know this probably looked amazing in person! She represents classic drag in a way that feels so fresh! That’s such a hard thing to do, and she does it so effortlessly.

Mistress wore a beaded gown that she actually wore in a national pageant. It was pretty!! The beading looked like leopard print. I’m not mad at it! This also felt like something she was specifically holding on to for this challenge.

Let’s talk about that music video! Every single one of their verses was incredible! They all looked great! Mistress was the only one who didn’t look like she was enjoying herself in the video. But she was still able to get a good take, and that’s all that matters!

Sasha Colby is the winner of this week’s challenge! She made it to the finale! Luxx was safe! So she also has a spot in the finale! Mistress and Anetra are the bottom two this week! They lip sync to “When Love Takes Over” by David Guetta and Kelly Rowland. They both did great! Anetra’s gown even had a reveal! She so gracefully stepped out of the skirt and had a beautiful leotard underneath. After the lip sync, Ru tells the queens that they both will be moving on to the grand finale!! We got our first double shantay of the season! And that means we have a top four!!

Will we be getting a reunion next week? I have a feeling we might be! I just hope there’s actually drama! So come back next week to find out what happens!
