“X-Rated: NYC” Episode 1 Recap Starring Cybersocket Stud, Max Konnor

I think people have always been fascinated by the lives of sex workers and what the lifestyle looks like in reality. Think about it, all of these people are following you on social media because they want to fuck you, but how many of them are actually interested in the person beyond the performance? I bet you it’s more than you think. Technology has made us closer than ever, and now we get to look even closer again with X-Rated: NYC. I think this show is premiering at the absolutely perfect time in the cultural zeitgeist. In the first of its kind, we are finally getting an inside look into the lives of four pornstars in NYC. I think I’m biased toward almost any reality show based out of New York, but there really is something about that city being its own character that makes for great television. And after watching the first episode, I think X-Rated:NYC has the potential to be one of those great reality shows.

Starring February's Cybersocket Stud, Max Konnor, along with fellow gay porn stars Boomer Banks, Dante Colle, and America’s favorite twink Joey Mills. It’s interesting to watch how quickly the social dynamic in this show explodes. It is almost instantly fueled with drama and mess, things we all love. But as a whole, the show feels extremely fresh and original and I think that is owed to the casting. It is as playful as it is dramatic, funny as it is serious, and as a whole the show is important. I say important because beyond the fantasy of a pornstar is an actual person, and I think people forget that. It’s absolutely amazing that these guys get to share their lives with everyone and have a platform like this. X-Rated: NYC is refreshing as fuck. From the jump, the show has its own identity and I think that is why it will be successful. While other recent queer reality programs have given the boot to people that do porn, this one makes it a requirement. Real stories and unique lifestyles bring us new perspectives in life and that is why I am so excited to watch the rest of this season.
