Q: Are We Not Men? A: We Are Objectified

Male body image insecurity is nothing new, its just not talked about in any meaningful way, mainly because on the list of causes worth bringing to the public's attention, it ranks at or near the bottom. Buzzfeed (link below) said to hell with all that and decided to shine a light on this epidemic by giving us shirtless men to ogle while reading depressing statistics. Makes sense to me.

While I tend to agree with what they're doing here, shining a light on various hypocrisies and causes of male insecurity, I have to question their tactics. It's almost a moral dilemma for me because honestly, what's better than hot guys and statistics? Combine the two and it should be a grand slam, but it just doesn't add up for me.

Maybe it's just that the fucking techno music gives me such a god damned headache I can't think straight, or maybe I really am just turning into a cranky old man. What do you guys think? Is the value in the message undercut by the further objectification of the men in the video or do I just need to shut up and enjoy it?
