Extra's: Unlike the movies Justin has made while at Evil Angel, his previous releases had few extras worth mentioning. Now that he appears to be going to his back catalog and re-releasing earlier volumes in the series, this will become something of an issue if he doesn't lower the price accordingly (the name "Evil Angel" means something or else they wouldn't be able to charge such a premium for their movies) or add something different rather than simply repackaging old titles. The extras here were some trailers, a photogallery, a cast list, some minor filmographies, and a paper coupon for the Fashionistas show in Las Vegas.

Audio/Video Quality: Black Pipe Layers 1 was presented in the same 1.33:1 ratio full frame color it was shot in by Justin Slayer for Exquisite Pictures (now re-released by Evil Angel). Those who know about Justin's work will understand when I say that he was still a work in progress back when this was made and it looked kind of weak in many ways. The shadows and grain were plentiful; the result of poor lighting, and the camera wasn't very steady so fans may get seasick watching some parts of the action. It wasn't terrible looking but in many ways, it was below average. The stereo audio was in English although the gals all spoke Czech (or something similar). There was no separation between the channels and the dynamic range was that of a high end home movie. Justin's been improving his technical values a lot of late but this was before he cracked that learning curve.

Body of Review: Watching movies involving interracial action by companies like Evil Angel, I've come to realize that the market must be pretty large for such action these days. One of the last such releases I caught was Justin Slayer's Black Pipe Layers 4, a fun flick with a lot to offer fans of the genre. Back before the company picked him up though, he was still working on the formula that got this current gig, with decidedly mixed results. In an effort to provide his earlier works to the modern audience, he is now re-releasing his initial titles on the Evil Angel banner, unfortunately not providing addition material in the process. The first such movie is Black Pipe Layers 1, a series of four vignettes that him and his posse trekking across the globe for some foreign fun with a few attractive gals from the Czech Republic. In all, I think the idea was fine but the execution left something to be desired, except for a well done final orgy scene. If you're still interested, here's a quick look at the action, noting that no condoms were used to stifle the pleasure of the men:

Scene One: Melissa, a bleached blonde with a lean body and attractive face, was up first as she posed for the camera (and the guys). Her flexibility was off the charts as she practically split herself in two with no undies on so it came as no surprise when Justin Slayer, Boz, and J. Monty, offered up their black pipes for sucking and fucking. She gave some mechanical head, got a little licking herself at the beginning of the scene, and took their meaty members with a practiced ease in each of her holes. The sex included some DP (double penetration) work and taste testing but the guys did most of the work and that limited the enjoyment and heat of the scene. It ended in a vaginal creampie that was pushed out of her pussy, a facial, and some anal creampie/semen on her butt action for those who care.

Scene Two: Sarah O'Neal, a lean brunette with all natural breasts, began the next scene smoking a cigarette in bed while wearing some sexy black lingerie as shown in the lower left hand corner of the front DVD cover, before taking care of Justin Slayer, Boz, and J. Monty in her scene. It was a small bedroom with a large bed and as she masturbated they walked over to her for some nice oral. Her laidback style had a bit more playfulness so it worked better for me as she literally "smoked their poles" before doing some hardcore boning. Initially, she let them do all the work and I thought the scene was lost until she got into it and began riding with some more enthusiasm. It wasn't a great scene but it managed to be okay once she became turned on, including some vaginal, anal and DP action. The guys talked too much and the technical values of the scene were weaker than average but it wasn't a bad scene.

Scene Three: Sabina Black/Martina, the brown haired gal on the upper right hand side of the front DVD cover, started off the next scene in progress while doing a striptease in some naughty nightie underwear. Her ass was nice and curvy and her breasts just big enough to work for me (all natural is the way to go) so this part of the scene worked for me. Her partners were the trio of tush; Justin Slayer, J. Monty, and Boz, so I knew they'd be working that smoking body of hers in the same manner they always do. Her oral was the best of the show in terms of working it to the bone and showing how much she wanted to milk those nuts. She also did vaginal, anal and DP but she fell into the trap of letting them do all the work for most of the scene and that weakened it like the other scenes. But for the oral, it was a filler scene, regardless of the vaginal creampie and facial ending.

Scene Four: Christy, Hannah, and Lucy/Jeni, the three gals on the lower right hand side of the front DVD cover, were up next with the guys (Justin Slayer, Boz, and J. Monty), as they played strip bowling. I'm not sure what the rules were since knocking down pins still required the gals to take off articles of clothing but they were all drinking and having a good time so rules weren't important. Within minutes of the concept being tossed out the window, the gals were sucking off their partners, soon followed by the usual screwing. There was vaginal, anal and taste testing but no DP's in this orgy scene yet it had the kind of energy and chemistry I like to see in a scene. The guys could've improved it by talking less, the gals could've improved it by talking more, but the overall action was very nicely done, even if not enough to rescue the previous three scenes from obscurity.

Summary: Black Pipe Layers 1 was a Rent It for me due to the weaknesses of the first three scenes. The gals looked good enough and often had some talented moves but their lack of passion, energy, and heat made the sex come off as mechanical. I know some critics are extremely forgiving of such mechanical sex but let's face it; we can get that at home, right? In any case, there was enough spark in the final scene to warrant checking out the movie and maybe even getting it but Justin and his friends have done much better (mostly on Evil Angel by the way) in the last year so why get the weaker material unless you're a huge, less demanding, fan of his antics? That said, the production values were in need of some spit & polish, the extras were weak, and the cast nice enough to look at but not repeatedly.
