Hot Gay Skater Paul Poirier Has Got the Moves!

Are you familiar with out athlete Paul Poirier? Girlll...we've had our eye on him ever since he hit the ice. Hailing from Canada, he and his ice skating partner Piper Gilles, have won a myriad of medals, including three times at the World Figure Skating Championships. They represented Canada at the 2018 and 2022 Winter Olympics. Two weeks ago, they won the title at the Canadian National Figure Skating Championships, for their fourth time. Now their eyes are on the 2026 Winter Olympics. Yassss!

We love skaters. The flexibility, the posture, the movement, and, of course, those perfect ice skater butts. And as far as athletes go, Paul is pretty damn hot.

This hottie is also a smarty pants. He has a Bachelor of Arts in linguistics and continues his studies. He speaks English, French, Japanese, and Spanish...and gay.

Paul started learning how to ice skate at 5 years old. He and his original ice skating partner made their ISU Junior Grand Prix debut in 2005 and placed 7th. The next year, they won the bronze at the JHP in Norway. In 2007, they won the national junior title at the Canadian Championships. Check out those muscled legs!

Paul came out later in life, at age 29. He is a self-declared introvert and was well aware of the lack of queer representation in sports. He says that coming out has made him more comfortable and bolder in his approach to life and activism.

Poirier came out during an interview for Toronto magazine Glory. He was inspired to come out during Pride month, also in preparation for the upcoming Winter Olympics in 2022. He told Glory: “I’ve had this attitude that my private life is my private life and my life outside of skating is my life outside of skating. I haven’t necessarily allowed all of those things to bleed together. I think with the lead-up to the Olympic Games in the next year, I definitely see opportunities to share what we do and who we are to a much wider audience, and that opportunity is not lost on me."

Of course, we had to get nosy and see if Paul was dating anyone. While nothing is official, we did find some couple posts on his Instagram with lovey-dovey captions. So we are just assuming that he is at least dating someone. Sigh. They are both lucky.

With his smoldering good looks and skills on the ice, we will certainly be keeping our eye on this guy and hope he gets to the next Olympics. Representation definitely matters in the sports field.
