The Met Gala 2024: The Men's Looks
Last night, the who's who of Hollywood and pop culture came out for the 2024 Met Gala at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The theme was "The Garden of Time" in reference to this year's exhibit, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion, celebrating the use of technology to save and restore garments that have suffered the aging process. Much like Hollywood's elite, lol. Florals, Sleeping Beauty themed, and techno art fashions filled the famous red carpet. The gala serves as a fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum’s Costume Institute. This year's celebrity co-chairs were Bad Bunny, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, and Zendaya, alongside Vogue’s Anna Wintour. Let's look at some of the men's looks the stood out, and give our hot take.
Lil Nas X
Covered with 50,000 Swarovski crystals, Lil Nas gave us a glittery, yet muted, look for the night. He is usually way looking to shock in his outfits, but this one was understated and brought glamour to the evening. We aren't sure about those nails though, how would he be able to log on to Grindr with those things?

Chris Hemsworth
You know we love our Chris, but did he not get the memo that the Met Gala is a dress-up thing? Especially with him serving as one of the co-chairs. He looks handsome as always but this looks like a rental from Men's Wearhouse, even if he is showing us that fabulous chest of his.

Bad Bunny
Ok, we are obsessed with this look. It is playful, sleek, dark, and sexy, and plays with shapes and textures. This is a win for us.

Stray Kids
South Korean Star Kids we extremely underwhelming with their ensembles. Looks like they went to an overcoat sale at the thrift store. Again, did they not get the memo?

Matt Damon
Matt Damon said it took him 5 minutes to get ready for the Met Gala. Yeah, we can tell. Maybe he and Chris Hemsworth got a two-for-one deal at Men's Wearhouse.

Usher
Although we like the overall look, it is dangerously close to being a costume in the gay revival of Phantom of the Opera. But, he pulls it off.

Charlie Hunnam
Simple, sleek, with a dash of dazzle...that's how we like our Charlie Hunnam.

Barry Keoghan
We'd prefer watching Barry just run around naked like he did in Saltburn. While this outfit may have fit the theme, he looks like he is auditioning for the gay Wonka version. Is that a bad thing?

Troye Sivan
Um, no. While we think he is adorable and sexy, he looks like a cocktail waitress on an Atlantis Cruise.

Jack Harlow
We love sleek glamour, and Jack Harlow pulled it off. Other gents in simple fare, take note.

Damiano David
YESSSSS! Even down to the nipple earring, we love this peek-a-boo look. We'd definitely take him home.

To be honest, we missed some of the over-the-top attire that we have seen in the past. Who can top Jared Leto's outfit from last year?
