Okay, first off, how much are we wetting ourselves over the upcoming Joker sequel Joker: Folie a Deux coming this October? The trailer shows all kinds of delicious dark madness, and while I have no idea what's going on in any of these scenes, I'm absolutely enthralled at the prospects! Stars Joaquin Phoenix reprising his Joker role, and Lada Gaga as Harley Quinn, are making me batty with anticipation!
So Mr. Man put together some of the men who have played, or voiced, the Joker character over the years who have stripped down for the camera to let their jokers go wild! Click here to see all the clips and video, especially that full frontal of Heath Ledger!
Joaquin Phoenix
Phoenix is our Joker of the day, leaving all but Ledger floating face down in their toxic chemical bath. He took his predecessors' madness and turned this into a straight-up drama, removing the camp and instilling it all with lonely emotion.
While he did give us some skin and bulge, but you have to go back to...
...2001's The Yards with Mark Wahlberg to get a glimpse of his peachy bottom. He plays a mobster's money collector in this gritty blue-collar crime drama. To prove he's not wearing a wire at one point he has to strip down to nothing. All in a day's work!
Jack Nicholson
While the super-camp of Caesar Romero's tv Joker from the 60's Batman series was our first Joker, it was Nicholson amping up the devilish glee to a Prince song in Tim Burton's 1989 film that left an indelible mark. But back in 1971 he predated Sharon Stone's beaver flash with a brief glimpse of his own in Carnal Knowledge.
A few years later, he bared his bum in the Oscar-winning classic noir Chinatown, giving us a different slit than the one in his nose to ponder. (If you've seen the film, you know the scene!) Touch!
Mark Hamill
Wait, Luke Skywalker was The Joker? He famously made the Joker's laugh the centerpiece of Batman: The Animated Series with his maniacal take on the unhinged character's trademark. But in 1993 he went ass up in the forgettable anthology horror film Body Bags as a baseball player who goes to desperate measures after losing an eye. That mound is no laughing matter!
Zack Galifianakis
Speaking of stellar voice work, Galifianakis lent his voice to The Joker for The Lego Batman. And in The Hangover he lent his chunky bum to stretch out that jockstrap! Grr, woof!
Jared Leto
Jared Leto does for The Joker what he did for trans representation in Dallas Buyers Club. And that's all I'll say about that! Now, check out his ass as he bangs Alicia Silverstone in 1994's Cool and the Crazy.
Heath Ledger
Ledger won a much-deserved posthumous Best Supporting Oscar for his gracefully unhinged Joker in 2008's The Dark Knight. And it was in 2007's I'm Not There when he played one version of many Bob Dylans where he displayed his own not-so-small statuette! You'll have to check out the full scene at Mr. Man to see the whole thing, but you'll be glad you did!
Barry Keoghan
Wait...when did Saltburn's Irish hottie Keoghan play The Joker? Here's one that Mr. Man missed. He appears in a very brief scene as "Unseen Arkham Prisoner" alongside Paul Dano's Riddler at the very end of 2022's The Batman. It's pretty clear that this is The Joker, and confirmed as such when they released a deleted scene between his Joker and Robert Patterson's Batman. Rumor has it he will return in that role for the sequel. Let's see if he humps a grave or licks any tub drains!
