Hercules & Iceman, Who's The Bottom?
As any good gay nerd knows, Marvel's Voices Pride is Marvel's first-ever queer-centered collection tackling Marvel's LGBTQIA+ icons, featuring queer creators behind the scenes as well. Starting in 2021, the collection has been jam-packed with action and romance stories alike, featuring our favorite spandex-clad queer characters doing what they do best.

Well, Marvel's special edition, titled X-Men: The Wedding Special #1, is throwing the internet into a tizzy. The special will feature the wedding of Mystique and Destiny.
'X-Men: The Wedding Special' celebrates Mystique and Destiny for 'Marvel's Voices: Pride!' See the happy couple on @Janbazaldua67’s cover, coming this May: https://t.co/KsTKecgMVd pic.twitter.com/6HxTbjTp9h

The main cover was designed by trans comic artist Jan Bazaldua, and the issue features artwork and stories by queer creators that include Tini Howard and Wyatt Kennedy. In addition to the main wedding extravaganza, other storylines in the issue feature queer characters like Betsy Braddock and Rachel Summers and our favorite bad boy Loki. But it's two of the wedding guests on the variant version of the cover that are really causing the stir. A muscle daddy and his twink...or are they? Take a look:

The variant cover was created by popular, queer artist and character designer Russell Dauterman and features other queer Marvel characters America Chavez, Loki, Black Cat, Nico, and Karolina from The Runaways, Spider-Gwen, and Web-Weaver. Russell has also been responsible for The Mighty Thor, which debuted at #1 on The New York Times Bestseller List for graphic novels and inspired the 2022 film, Thor: Love & Thunder. Russell has also designed superhero costumes for Storm, Jean Grey, and Scarlet Witch, and designed for the X-Men’s Hellfire Gala events. Love the covers for the comic book series Scarlet Witch? Yep, that's him too.

Ok, back to the Russell's Marvel Wedding Special variant - check out the hairy Hercules embracing the twinky Iceman. In the comics, the character of Hercules has always been bisexual and the character of Iceman came out in 2012. Are they a couple? What's happening? The internet went crazy with funny responses, not about their relationship, but about who is the top and who is the bottom. People have been calling Iceman the pass-around bottom, Hercules a locked bottom, and more. Check out some of the funniest responses.

So what say you, who is the top and who is the bottom? And yeah to Marvel for including the community and realizing that gay nerds buy lots of comics!
