Fleshlinks: Gay Pop Culture News Covering Green Day, Bill O’Reilly, Undies, and The Wizard of Oz Remake!

FLESHLINKS GAY

Gay pop culture and porn

This is Fleshlinks Gay, your one-stop source for what's going on in the gay world - entertainment, fashion, politics, gossip, it's all here! Here's what's going on this week:

Green Day’s Billie Armstrong Talks Bisexuality

Green Day’s Billie Armstrong chatted to People Magazine about being a bisexual icon. Totally forgot that he came out in the 90s. Green Day just released their 14th album, Saviors, and they are still going strong! Though Billie has been married for almost three decades, he maintains his bisexual status and says he’s excited to see how standards towards sexuality have changed: " I have been married — there's this other side of me that's very conventional when it comes to my 30-year marriage to my wife. But I just look at sexuality: It's not one way or the other. And if anybody ever tries to say that, I don't think they're really being honest with themselves."

Russell Tovey Revisits HBO’s Looking

Hottie actor Russell Tovey talks about the 10th anniversary of HBO’s Looking. Groundbreaking and perhaps a bit ahead of it’s time, the series was truly great, too bad we got such a limited initial run. Most of the stars have gone off to do major things. Russell spilled the tea that he wanted, and was in the running, to play Jonathan Groff’s character and found out via Twitter that he didn’t get it. He still played a major character in the series and he said that everyone wants to come back for a reboot or follow up movie. We want it too!

Bill O’Reilly’s Book Banned

In a hilarious serving of karma, Bill O’Reilly, who has supported book banning in Florida, found out that two of his books ("Killing Jesus" and "Killing Reagan") have been banned under Florida law. He is pissed. He wants to know who put his books up for review and wants to blast their picture all over his website and television. Gurl, bye. He told Newsweek: "When DeSantis signed the book law, I supported the theme because there was abuse going on in Florida. There were far-left progressive people trying to impose an agenda on children, there's no doubt about it.” He is calling for DeSantis to amend the law and get his books back on the shelves. Good luck, DeSantis is dealing with his own problems.

The Wizard of Oz Gets A Remake

The Wizard of Oz, much loved by the gays because of Judy Garland and her gayish counterparts, is getting a remake. No, we aren’t talking about Wicked. The classic film is being remade by Black-ish creator Kenya Barris and will brought up to date and set in Inglewood, not Kansas. Do we need a remake? Would you watch it?

Andrew Christian Releases Mean Girls Line

Mean Girls 2024 has been kicking ass at the box office. The movie version of the Broadway musical based on the original film from 20 years ago (yes, 20!) is finding audiences with fans old and young and keeping the wave of movie musicals going strong (The Color Purple and Wonka). Following on the success of the film, the maven of men’s underwear, Andrew Christian, released their Mean Girls line. Obvously in pink, the line includes hot undies as well as a skirt fit for a Plastic.
