Madonna Is Getting Sued By Fans!
Madonna, the Queen of Pop, is getting sued by fans over her Celebration Tour. Two men filed a lawsuit this last week, suing the Songstress for showing up late to her concert in New York. The show was supposed to start at 8:30 pm and Madonna didn’t take to the stage until 10:45 pm.
The men are suing Madonna and Live Nation because they had to get up early the next morning for work and to take care of family matters. LOL. They are also suing because they say that by the time the concert was over around 1 am, there were limited rideshare options and that there was a price surge because of the late hour. They are also complaining that Live Nation committed a breach of contract and engaged in "unconscionable, unfair, and/or deceptive trade practices" because they knew full well that Madonna would not start the show any time near 8:30 pm. Well, duh, anyone who has ever been to any major concert knows that the show never starts on time. Anyone who has seen Madonna knows she loves to be late and make a grand entrance well after the intended start time.
They are making the lawsuit a class action suit because of Madonna’s late start in all of her cities. "Based on the years-long history of Madonna arriving several hours late to prior concerts (and which conduct continued at concerts in other cities after the Concerts at the Barclays Center, including concerts in Washington, D.C. and Boston), Plaintiffs knew or should have known that the Concerts would not start at 8:30 p.m., and that Madonna would not take the stage until several hours after the start time, causing Plaintiffs and all Class Members to have to wait several hours," the lawsuit states.
This isn’t the first time Madonna has been sued by fans for starting her show late. During her Madame X tour, two fans sued her and Live Nation for starting the show two hours later. There was an unspecified settlement reached and the suit was dropped. Gurlll…don’t make the gays wait! LOL.
The Celebration Tour celebrates four decades of Madonna’s career, with an emphasis on celebrating New York, where her career started. The show has been well received by fans and critics, even though they had to wait after 8:30 pm.
