As is the way with most Masonic Boys scenes, clothing, and the removal of them, becomes fetishized. After Barrett has Tate drink from the sacred vessel, he asks if Tate is no longer attracted to men. What follows next is, I guess, a test to see just how much he isn't attracted to men, by instructing him non-verbally to, well, have sex with a man.
