Four months ago, I decided to relocate to Phoenix, Arizona. I moved here from Los Angeles, so I definitely wanted to find the best nightlife experiences this city has to offer. Luckily, my boyfriend and our amazing friends have shown me a plethora of fun things to do and I can’t wait to share them with you! Whether you’re planning on moving here, visiting for a short time, or somehow find yourself stuck on a lengthy layover, here are 6 gay things to do in Phoenix, AZ!

1. There’s always a party at Charlie’s! Located on the North Side of Phoenix, Charlie’s is the biggest and baddest of the gay nightclubs. The gay Western-themed nightclub is open 7 days a week and offers everything from drag shows, dance parties, hot go-gos, and killer drink specials. Their bartenders are geared up in their cowboy best and ready to serve you something to keep you cool in the desert heat. They’re located at 727 W Camelback Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85013. 2. Bring it to brunch at Walter Studios! Located in North-Central Phoenix, Walter Studios is one of those places that you’ll never forget. Their location has parking on both sides and is big enough for your whole crew! Their walls are filled with art, and they have all sorts of fun things to take pictures with. My friends and I go there for Sunday brunch to recover from our wild Saturday nights. They have an impressive food and drink menu loaded with delicious dishes such as The Midwest, Breakfast Poutine, and The Early Burg. My all-time favorite drink is The Yellowjacket, get it with Mezcal and thank me later! They’re located at 747 W Roosevelt St, Phoenix, AZ 85007. Bring your appetite!

3. Don’t be a drag, come see the queens at Kobalt! Located on the North Side of Phoenix, Kobalt is drag central! Kobalt is also home to Phoenix’s very own Joey Jay from RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13, who is part of The 4Some Revue. Every Friday night, Joey, Toothpick, Gigi, Mynx, and Salem slay the stage in what the Phoenix New Times calls “Best In Phoenix.” Bring your dollars and tip these queens as they give you the show of your life. 4. Ready to dance all night long? Karamba Nightclub is here to deliver the hottest Latin beats to keep you moving till the lights come on. Located in Northeast Phoenix, Karamba hosts one of my favorite dance parties every Saturday night till 4 AM.! They also have drag shows, karaoke, and more. They’re located at 1724 E McDowell Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85006. Get ready to shake it!

5. Looking for lowkey? Sazerac has got just the vibe for you. Located in North-Central Phoenix, this cocktail bar has a large indoor bar area and an even larger patio bar area. Their friendly and talented bartenders serve tasty cocktails—my favorite is their mojito! Hang out with your friends inside or outdoors, vibe to the trendy music, and order yourself a delicious cocktail. They’re located at 821 N 2nd St, Phoenix, AZ 85004. Hope you’re thirsty!

6. Got a taste for leather? Anvil has got a taste for you! Located in Northeast Phoenix, this bar is essentially our city’s version of The Eagle. They host some super fun gear and underwear nights and have incredible drink specials. They even have a pup night! They’re located at 2424 E Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Woof!
