This Summer, Them Magazine and Pitchfork Media are bringing one hell of a Queer Concert to NYC's Knockdown Center, as part of the iconic Bushwig. The Knockdown Center is typically host to some of the best dance parties in the city, and this event looks like it will be a Pride Month MUST if you're in NYC this June.

The concert is set to take place on June 17th and will feature some of the best stars in the drag world, some of the hottest DJs out there, and some of the best Queer musicians in the world. And because Pitchfork is producing the concert event, you know the caliber of musical artists is going to be next level. Multi-Platinum Queer R&B singer Tinache will headline the event, but the entire line-up is holy fuck awesome.

One of my favorites, Papi Juice, is also going to be performing. If you're unfamiliar, they're the art collective composed of DJ/producers Oscar Nñ and Adam Rhodes, and illustrator Mohammed Fayaz, who are on a mission to uplift and celebrate Queer and trans people of color. The rest of the lineup for the night includes Pom Pom Squad, rapper Zebra Katz, and Colombian Canadian pop artist Lido Pimienta, just to name a few. And because it's associated with Bushwig, there are going to be some of the best drag performances of the year.

The event's goal is to celebrate the diversity of Queer talent out there, as well as how important it is for Queer spaces to exist for the LGBTQ+ community. The ability to safely express ourselves is paramount, and in 2023 that has been more apparent than ever before. As Them Editor In Chief Sarah Burke put it, "Nights out are opportunities to find acceptance and freedom — to be fearlessly and fully oneself." Adding, "This pride, our community needs that more than ever. We’re thrilled to bring together Them and Pitchfork’s mutual passion for uplifting queer artists, and to offer our LGBTQ+ audiences and allies a sanctuary in which to let loose and celebrate with top talent this June."
Pitchfork has remained one of the music industry's most respected voices for over 30 years, and Them is the brainchild of Vogue's Anna Wintour and Teen Vogue's Philip Picardi, and has become one of the most respected names in LGBTQ+ news, culture, and politics. The event is also being sponsored by Bubbly Seltzer and MAX (aka: the artist formerly known as HBO), and you can get tickets on the Knockdown Center's website. Tickets are $45 and with the incredible lineup at this amazing venue, I'd expect tickets to sell super fast.
