Last weekend, Spider-Man: Now Way Home brought in an astronomical 253 Million at the U.S. Box Office. This tells us that the masses are finally ready to get back to the movies. The movie itself is a total blast and is being critically praised as one of the better Marvel movies in a long time.
What do we gays love most about this blockbuster? Do we love the Spider-Man franchise for the stories, the action, the visual effects, the performances? Maybe! But we really love them because of the super hot guys who have played this superhero!
Let’s have a look at some of the hottest Spider-Men:
Tobey Maguire
From 2002 to 2007, several years before the Marvel Universe had become the dominant source of movie blockbusters, there was a trilogy of films about Spider-Man that starred all-American cutie Tobey Maguire as the title character. Those big blue eyes and uncertain demeanor made Tobey seem like an odd choice to play a superhero. Then he took his shirt off and we were sold! Probably the sexiest and most iconic scene from these films was the upside-down kiss with Tobey and Kirsten Dunst in the rain. Kirsten, we envy you girl!
Andrew Garfield
He may now be a serious actor getting awards buzz for his performance as Jonathan Larson in Tick, Tick… Boom, but before that, English pretty boy Andrew Garfield had us crushing on him when he played the title role in the 2012 and 2014 Amazing Spider-Man films. That great hair, unassuming smile, and lean build all made him a perfect choice for this superhero. Garfield has recently shared that he would be open to returning to the role of Spider-Man. I don’t think any of us would be apposed to seeing Garfield back in spandex where he belongs.
Tom Holland
Our current Spider-Man is another British stage performer turned action hero, Tom Holland. Tom is the youngest Spider-Man to date and he brings a boyishness to the roll that is refreshing for a superhero franchise. If you haven’t guessed from that toned body and perky tush of his, Tom is also an accomplished dancer who performed Billy Elliot as a child. It was also recently announced that Tom would play Fred Astaire in an upcoming biopic. We could definitely dance with him cheek to cheek.
