Bradley Cooper Was Snubbed At The Oscars, But We Still Love Him

CELEBRITY

A Star is Born was one of, if not the, most influential film of 2018. Bradley Cooper not only gave us our first big look at the acting chops that have been buried inside Lady Gaga for so long, but he also gave us a side of himself we haven't seen before. He was rough, rugged, and ridiculously sexy throughout the film. If you look past the alcoholism and disastrous ego, Cooper's character was near perfect. He was also the mastermind behind the camera throughout the project and deserved every bit of recognition for it.

Unfortunately, the Academy didn't agree. As the nominations for this year's Oscars were announced, Cooper's name was left out of the Best Director category. Sure he was nominated in the Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Adapted Screenplay categories, but Best Director was quite possibly the most deserving.

When asked about the snub, Cooper's leading lady, Lady Gaga, replied: "Well, you know, you never know what's going to happen. But at the end of the day, he knows that he's the best director in my eyes, and in all of our eyes as his cast." That sounds an awful lot like her "100 people in a room" line, but still seems heartfelt.

Although the Academy may have overlooked Bradley's directorial talents, we didn't. We still love him, too. And we can definitely see why he did earn recognition for his acting. Maybe there are a few gays in the Academy...
