Adam Lambert Sings For Cher At The Kennedy Center Honors

CELEBRITY

Disclaimer: This story is literally one of the gayest ways we could possibly end 20GayTeen.

All throughout this past year, we've experienced some amazing strides in representation on TV, in movies, and music. So what better way to close this super-gay chapter than by having Adam LambertAmerican Idol alum and Queen frontman, serenade Cher, the OG Gay Icon, with one of her own hits?

Somehow Lambert was able to belt out his own rendition of the 1998 hit "Believe" with Cher herself sitting in the audience as her life's work was being celebrated at the Kennedy Center Honors. Even the pop legend couldn't hold back tears as he hit note after perfect note while honoring her. She even gave a standing ovation after his performance.

Cher's career goes back over fifty years. After starting as part of the famous duo Sonny & Cher, the "Halfbreed" songstress went on to launch her own solo music career, star in several hit movies, and also carved out time to become one of the greatest allies the LGBTQ+ community has ever had. Celebrating her at an event like the Kennedy Center Honors is quite fitting - and frankly overdue.
