Last July, the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans mounted an exhibition to honor the legacy of J.B. Harter, an artist and curator who was murdered in his home by an unidentified assailant in 2002. Hurricane Katrina unfortunately forced the exhibition to close in the middle of its run, but it's now seeing another life at New York City's famed Leslie/Lohman Gallery. In addition to works by Harter, the show also features paintings and photographs by nine other contemporary Louisiana artists including Ralph Bourque, Brad Dupuy and Jenny Kahn. It's definitely worth braving the weekend crowds in SoHo to check out if you live in New York City—or you can fix yourself a hurricane (the cocktail, that is) and enjoy the virtual exhibit online.
