Pornstar interviews rarely give any real insights about a performer, but this intimate chat between Gavin Waters and Jasun Mark offers a number of surprises, including some bad news and a fascinating take on the phenomenon of "Gay-For-Pay" performers.

Porn director Jasun Mark sat down with Gavin Waters, the sexiest missionary we know, before a shoot to have a chat about the gay porn industry and Gavin's plans for the future. We've found the most pornstars tend to be very charming in person and in interviews—a certain amount of charm is required when your job is all about making people want to have sex with you. But Gavin is really up there on the likability front, coming off as genuine, smart, and unpretentious.

But what we really love about this interview is its candidness. The whole thing is pretty good, but there are some notable highlights. Gavin gets real about his insecurities later in the interview, just after Jasun talks about his love for the energy behind an all-gay shoot, something that straight guys "will never, ever understand." (Those are pretty frank words given that the studio he works for features a number of gay-4-pay stars.) Gavin, who is openly bisexual, surprisingly takes the opposite tack. He suggests that every gay pornstar is gay-for-pay—an argument so simple and true that we're almost shocked to be hearing it for the first time. Indeed, whether they identify as gay or straight, any man being paid to have gay sex on camera is faking his sexuality in a way. They are acting, after all. There's also some bad news. We find that Gavin is on set to film his last bottoming scene ever, and that the child he was expecting with his current partner is no longer on the way due to unspecified "complications." We want so, so badly to make a joke about how long it'll take Gavin to unretire that booty of his, but we'll skip it just this once to send him our deepest condolences and best wishes instead.
