Jimmy Fowlie, a member of the Los Angeles comedy troupe The Groundlings, has just released the first episode of his new, semi-autobiographical web series, Go-Go Boy Interrupted.
According to the site, Fowlie developed the idea based on his time spent working as a go-go dancer while pursuing his BFA in Acting at USC.
I was fascinated with the Go-Go scene: the larger than life drag queens to the out of control 19 year old party boys, there was so much comedy potential.
And I was NOT above the craziness. During this period of my life I discovered my love of blackout drinking. I infamously broke my arm in a fist fight which led to me go-go dancing with my arm in a cast. Ironically, this was also the period in my life where I frequently said the phrase, "I hate drama."
After taking a cold hard look at what my life had become I decided to hang-up my booty shorts, retire from the go-go world and try to make a brighter, more stable future for myself in sketch comedy. Here is the show! New episode every Tuesday morning!
