The mainstream glass ceiling is never easily shattered by porn stars, but it seems to happen more often in the straight porn world than the gay side of things. Nevertheless, a handful have broken through, and a new piece by The Backlot (link below) examines five who have enjoyed at least a taste of mainstream success.
Brent Corrigan
Working under his, presumed, legal name Sean Paul Lockheart, Brent has had leading roles in such mainstream films as Judas Kiss, The Dark Place, and Triple Crossed, a film which he also directed, and even appeared in the Oscar-winning 2008 film Milk.
Brad Benton
Brad is a superstar in the world of grade-Z flicks churned out by knockoff production house The Asylum, and I certainly won't judge if you've seen the work of "Dylan Vox" in such films as Battle of Los Angeles, Mega Shark vs Crocosaurus, or the long overdue Titanic 2.
François Sagat
The only man on this list who has used the same name in both realms of entertainment, François Sagat worked in both porn and mainstream films simultaneously, making both Saw VI & at least 4 adult films in 2009. Sadly the scalp-tattooed stud announced his retirement from the adult world last year.
Colton Ford
Still a hunk well into his fifties, Glenn Soukesian--as he is known in the mainstream world--has not only appeared in such mainstream movies as The Next Best Thing and Circuit, and even has a burgeoning career as a recording artist.
Matthew Rush
The muscle-bound Matthew Rush's retirement from gay porn may have only lasted three months, but his career as mainstream actor Gregory Grove is really starting to take off, as evidenced by his role in this year's Pro Wrestlers vs Zombies alongside "Rowdy" Roddy Piper & "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan.
