More Star Wars, Dracula, M3GAN, and More!

I’m your Gay News Guy – this is the news, casual, sassy, unfiltered, and a little tipsy. Ok here’s today’s MOVIE NEW MONDAY as I see it!

The new Bob Marley film, Bob Marley: One Love, broke box office records for its Valentine’s Day release. Industry experts say the box office drought from COVID is finally dissipating.

On the other hand, Marvel’s Madame Web was a huge box office flop…even worse than Morbius and received a 13 percent critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes. Ouch!

There’s a new Dracula on the way! Luc Besson (who was responsible for The Fifth Element) is bringing us Dracula — A Love Tale, a mix of horror and romance that is rumored to focus on the life of the vampire before he became a vampire. The film will star Christoph Waltz. Yassss!

Hot off the heels of finishing Gladiator 2, Ridley Scott is reportedly moving on to a Bee Gees biopic film. Hmmm…we still haven’t woken up from falling asleep to his Napoleon.

Franchise exec of the James Bond films shared that no progress is being made on any next Bond film, after Daniel Craig’s exit. There’s been a lot of suggestions as to who the next Bond will be, but not even a script is in the works.

Our favorite dancing doll, M3GAN, is getting a sequel! It will simply be called M3GAN 2.0 and will arrive in 2025. Hopefully, we get an updated dance. You go, girl!

Mattel is finalizing the search for the director of their Masters of the Universe film. We can’t wait to see the live-action muscled femme top in action!

After a long wait, Marvel has revealed the cast for The Fantastic Four: Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.

There’s a bigfoot movie coming! The trailer for Sasquatch Sunset dropped and it features Jesse Eisenberg as part of a family of bigfoots.

In other trailer drop news, the trailer for Damsel came out and shows Stranger Things’s Millie Bobby Brown fighting a dragon. The film promises to take a twist on fairy tales.

In another twist to fairy tales, a new horror film on the horizon, Cinderella’s Revenge, reinterprets the fairy tale princess as a revenge-seeking slasher with the help of her Fairy Godmother. It looks beyond terrible. We can't wait. Yasss, queen!

Keanu Reeve’s Constantine sequel is finally getting kicked into gear. FINALLY! The sequel will be more R-rated and truer to the dark themes of the original character.

There’s a new big-screen Karate Kid movie in the works and it will star original cast member Ralph Maccio with Jackie Chan. Impossible to believe the original came out 40 years ago!

The Conjuring 4 is on its way, and it will be the end of the franchise. Truth be told, the first one was great, the sequels were…meh.

Donald Glover will return as the young Lando Calrissian for a Star Wars movie. It was originally intended as a TV series but will hit the big screen as a one-off. Glover is taking on more than just an acting part by getting involved as a writer and showrunner. Pew pew!
