Miss out on the latest Fleshbot Live chat? No worries, we got you. Fleshbot Live returned for our monthly live chat with the Men of the independent gay porn studio, Luxxxe Studios as we hung with Justin Yurmouth, Brian Bonds, Dakota Payne, and Luxxxe founder, JD Daniels.

The chat started off by discussing everyone’s transition into the adult industry and the changes they have seen happen in the adult biz over the years. Did you know Justin was working a 9 to 5 job? Brian was working at a BBQ restaurant!

Dakota Payne discusses going from twink to twunk before our very eyes, and the pressure to maintain a certain look in the industry, but also talks about the positive diverse representation that is happening in the industry.  We also talk about Dakota’s extensive drag career and the support he has received from fans as he continues down that path, taking a step away from porn. We also take a sneak peek at Dakota’s new single, “Smoke and Mirrors.”

Founder JD Daniels talked about his entry into the adult business by way of working as a stripper, then doing solo scenes, then progressing into full productions. Orgies played a heavy part in his early career, what a way to start! JD also hinted that he is dating a celebrity, and that he will be returning to on-camera work in 2024!

We also talked about being bisexual in personal life, and how bisexuality has become part of the gay porn culture, although slowly and with some resistance from gay porn fans. All in all, there is an evolution regarding sexual identities and creative expression in the gay porn world.

Finally, we chatted about Luxxxe Studios and the challenges of being an independent studio in today’s gay porn market. We get the tea behind Luxxxe Studios’ Friends in Heat series, having just premiered the Season 2 finale. Season 3 is in the works! The idea behind Friends in Heat is to bring back story-driven and dramatic work back to the scene, much like the much-loved porn of the '80s and '90s. JD talked about the biggest challenges in producing independent work are finding great models, directors, and crew. He said he really lucked out with the Friends in Heat team. The series has been nominated for both Fleshbot and GayVN Awards.
