Jordan Jayro’s Drag Race All Stars Season 8 Recap: Episode 8, You’re A Winner Baby!

DRAG RACE

Jordan Jayro's Reviews of RuPaul's Drag Race

Hi, gay! I am back again with another RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars recap! Last week, the queens improvised their way through the Ru Crime story of the mysterious disappearance of Lil Poundcake! Lala Ri rose to the top, snatching her first win of the season! Alexis and Kahanna were the bottom two, and Alexis said she would save Lala if their positions were ever switched! So naturally, Lala won the lip sync and decided to send Kahanna home. Now that you’re all caught up, let’s get into this week’s episode!

The queens have reentered the werk room after Kahanna’s elimination and Lala Ri is LIVING! She won the challenge and the lip sync last week! It feels correct. That lip sync was cute though! Jorgeous turned it as always! The queens sit down to tally the votes, and it was almost unanimous. Kahanna would have gone home no matter how the lip sync turned out. The one vote for Alexis is assumed to be Kahanna, even though Kandy joked that it was her. The face crack was hilarious. It’s a new day in the werk room! Jimbo has bologna and is throwing it around. I feel like at least one health code violation is going on here. RuPaul enters and tells the queens that for this week’s maxi challenge, they will use drag droppings inspired by previous All Stars winners to create an original look worthy of the Drag Race Hall Of Fame!

As the winner of last week’s challenge, Lala Ri gets to assign the boxes! What could possibly go wrong? Lala decides to give herself Shea Couleé’s box. Alexis Michelle was assigned Trinity The Tuck’s box. Jessica Wild got Kylie Sonique Love. Kandy was assigned Monet X Change. And lastly, Jimbo was given Trixie Mattel’s box. I didn’t detect any shade here! Everyone’s box assignments seemed to fit their personalities pretty well! We’ll see how this goes.

Let’s talk about these looks! Kandy Muse looked good in this black dress, but I felt like it was kind of simple. It needed some more OOMPH! Like a boa or something. The hair was amazing though. Jimbo looked really cool! I’m not the biggest fan of a face covering, but the rest of the look is really great. I liked the fabric Lala Ri used, and the color was nice. I just didn’t get why she only had one sleeve. It should have been a one-shoulder dress or two-sleeves. Alexis looked great! The dress fit her well and the hair was perfect. Was it an iconic fashion moment? No. But it was very well done. Jessica Wild’s dress had me feeling a little conflicted. I love it but I think it needed to be shorter. And maybe a cool boot cover and a thigh-high. That would have been so sexy!

Alexis Michelle is the top All Star of the week!! Jimbo and Jessica are safe, meaning that Kandy and Lala Ri are the bottom two All Stars of the week! Alexis now has to lip sync against the super secret lip sync assassin who is Ruvealed to be… Nicky Doll! She looks sickening! They lip sync to “These Boots Were Made For Walkin’” by Nancy Sinatra. Not my favorite choice of song. They still did a good job though! Alexis Michelle is the winner of the lip sync! She now must reveal the lipstick of the queen she has chosen to get the chop! And that queen is… Lala Ri! I call shade!

That’s all for this week! Come back next week to see the Roast of Carson Kressley!! It’s gonna be good!
