New ‘Good Morning America’ Host Gio Benitez is Hot AF, Gay, and Has Us In Tears!

Good Morning America Weekend has just welcomed Gio Benitez as their newest host and he's not only ridiculously hot, but also has one of the sweetest first episodes ever thanks to his equally hot husband and his adorable family.

Benitez has been a correspondent for GMA since 2013, but last week the show officially promoted him to co-host. To celebrate they showed congratulations videos from his mom, sister, niece, and nephew, and brought up his stud of a husband, fellow TV host Tommy DiDario. And there wasn't a dry eye in the house... my house... I live in an apartment... alone... SHUT UP, I'M EMOTIONAL!

Born in Miami to Cuban immigrant parents, the 37-year-old Benitez was particularly emotional getting to host such an iconic show that bears his home country's name. "I'm actually carrying with me my grandfather’s pocket watch," Benitez says in the video. "Because I keep thinking about their journey to this country from Cuba, leaving everything behind. And the idea that we get to sit on this set, bearing the name of the country that gave them so much hope, is just everything to me."

They then played a video of GMA hosts George Stephanopoulos, Robin Roberts, and Michael Strahan welcoming him to the team, before showing a highlight reel of Benitez's previous work over the last decade. And then came the heavy-hitters: his family. After a cute snippet of Benitez dancing in a segment, his mom and sister come on screen to wish him well and he absolutely loses it. Following them for the one-two punch is his little niece and nephew, who wish their guncle an excited congratulations and the waterworks just keep coming.

But it doesn't stop there. Ohhhh no. Co-host Whit Johnson brings Benitez's gorgeous husband Tommy DiDario on stage so he can wish him congrats, too, and they give each other a big sweet hug and a kiss.

Benitez's relationship with Whit Johnson is also a particularly wonderful moment for the two, because Benitez wrote to Johnson asking for advice when he was 23 and Johnson was 27. Not only did he respond with advice, but the two have stayed good friends ever since and now share a job together as co-anchors.
