Kylie Jenner denied access to Doja Cat’s Met Gala party: ‘Wouldn’t let her in’

The Met Gala was just last week, and there is some hilarious after-party drama. As a person of non-wealthy experience, I know that these huge Hollywood events are important. But I also know that the after parties are of equal if not more importance. So I was very tickled to see this headline about Kylie Jenner not being allowed into Doja Cat’s Met Gala after-party. I’ll start by saying that I don’t think this was personal. Allegedly, the venue was at capacity and security wouldn’t allow anyone else inside. What makes it even funnier is the rumor that Kylie was expecting to get brought inside through a back entrance to avoid the crowd in the front. But nope! She was not allowed in. Apparently, she was there to meet Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny, who were already inside.

‘SNL’ Officially Goes Dark Amid Writers Strike, Will Air Repeats For Now

This writers’ strike is getting serious! The WGA (Writers’ Guild of America) has officially begun its strike. Basically, film and television writers are asking to receive better pay, mainly in the form of royalties. What this would mean is if a writer works on an episode of a television show, every time that episode airs, they would get a royalty check. Sounds fair right? Well, unfortunately, many production companies don’t think so. Writers are responsible for a lot of the success behind the shows we watch. They literally write the words that the actors say! And they only make a day rate for the time they spend on the show. This strike means that many huge projects have been put on hold until further notice. That has a huge effect on TV shows like SNL, which has paused production while the strike is happening. That means we will not get a new episode until things are resolved. Hopefully, this doesn’t go on for too long, and these writers can get the compensation they deserve!

In other Met Gala news, this year’s theme has caused a lot of backlash. The theme was in honor of the late Karl Lagerfeld, who was a fashion icon. He worked for some of the most iconic fashion houses and was revered as one of the great fashion designers of our time. He has also come under fire for his comments against plus-sized individuals, saying that he doesn’t want curvy people wearing his clothes. To make matters worse, he also had some harsh comments about the #MeToo movement. He insinuated that anyone wanting to be a model should expect to have peoples’ hands in their skirts. So it’s safe to say that he was not without flaws. Many celebrities like Jameela Jamil have spoken out against the Met for honoring him.

The Takeaways From Today’s Tony Awards Nominations

Theatre gays, this one’s for you!! I say you, but it’s also me. I am a theatre gay. And the Tony nominations were just announced! The 2022-2023 Broadway season has been so good! The musical Some Like It Hot is in the lead with a total of 13 nominations! And it’s looking good for the Sondheim girlies! Both revivals of Sweeney Todd and Into The Woods are nominated. This is crazy since Sweeney Todd has only been open for a few weeks! I guess that’s the power of Josh Groban. I was less surprised by Into The Woods getting so many nominations. The run was incredible, with amazing reviews. And the cast recording was sickening! Who will win?? Find out when the Tony Awards take air on June 11th!

Ed Sheeran says 'I'm done' if he loses copyright trial 

Help! Ed Sheeran is threatening to quit music! This is just too much for me. Here’s what’s going on… Ed Sheeran is currently in a legal dispute regarding his song “Thinking Out Loud”. He is being accused of plagiarism for allegedly stealing a melody from Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On”. I don’t think he meant to steal anything, but there are similarities. I just don’t think it’s enough of a similarity to justify a massive lawsuit. It just feels like Marvin Gaye’s people are trying to get some money out of this. I doubt they would have done anything if it wasn’t a massive hit. So who knows what will happen? Maybe they will settle for a percentage of the song’s revenue? All I know is that Ed Sheeran is now saying he will quit music if he loses this case. I don’t know what to expect, but I will be eagerly following this story.
