Drag Queen Spotlight: Euphoria On Being a Supermodel, Entitled Queens, and Lip Gloss

This week's Drag Queen Spotlight is a good Judy of mine! Her name is Euphoria!! Euphoria is the self-proclaimed tabloid diva. She's always in the news! Check her Instagram to see what I'm talking about! Euphoria is in her own words, "A rockstar trapped in a supermodel's body." And that seems to perfectly sum up the diva who is Euphoria. We met at DragCon 2022 and immediately hit it off. Since then, I've had the privilege of working with Euphoria and I can attest that she is not just a hoot, but also a holler! How did you get your drag name? 

Sneaking into the clubs since I was 16. Watching everyone have a sense of Euphoria from the music and lights before the 1:45 call time.

What was your first time in drag like?

Terrible, I still look the same way I do now. Just with more lip gloss.

What made you want to start drag?

The era of the supermodel—there was nothing like the '90s catwalk. I always wanted a life-size BARBIE and my mom always thought I wanted to marry her. Little did she know I wanted to wear her clothes.

Who inspires your drag (celebrities, other queens, etc.)?

Let’s be honest, everyone wants to be Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian, but no one can do Kate Moss like Euphoria.

Favorite song/artist to lip sync to? 

Jessie Ware has been on my ears lately! It's sexy, and it gives you something to kiss the mirror to.

Have you ever hooked up in drag?

There’s only one person I go kneel to and that’s the poster of Raja Gemini in my drag closet.

What’s your favorite thing about drag?

The sleaze of it all!

What are your hobbies outside of drag?

Drive under the influence, In-n-Out runs, legal trouble, and giving people a copy of Britney Spears' Black Out album.

What’s the craziest thing you’ve witnessed in a dressing room?

Ugg boots.

Biggest pet peeve about working with other drag queens?

Entitlement— I’d rather party with the girl who’s been doing drag for 1 day than someone who’s a kewnt that’s been doing drag for 15 years. Attitude and drama just go over my head and out the door.

Biggest pet peeve about audiences in nightclubs?

All I will say is... If you think a performer not doing a back flip into a split is a bad performer... Maybe you're just a bad audience member.

Any advice for someone wanting to start drag? 

Be who you are, NO LITERALLY. DO drag for yourself. You are one of a kind, you will find your drag style. You will learn more about yourself in and out. Drag is one giant party and you're invited. Be careful for grooming in the drag world. And don't forget to wash your tights.
