Gay Golden Globes Again! From Jeremy Pope to Hugh Jackman, the Hot 2023 Golden Globe Nominees

BROADWAY

The nominations for the 2023 Golden Globes are out, and once again there is some major Queer representation. From Jeremy Pope's sexy ass in The Inspection, to Hacks' Hannah Einbender, Brendan Fraser in The Whale, to the Queer storylines of nomination-leader Everything, Everywhere, All At Once", there is so much great Queer content to celebrate. To get us in the mood as we gear up for Awards Season, we figured we'd take a look at the sexy men of the Best Actor category.

Jeremy Pope - The Inspection

Jeremy Pope is one of those actors who when I see him I do a literal double take because I can't really understand how someone can be SO fucking attractive. He's starring in A24's The Inspection which we wrote about previously where he plays as a gay marine during the Bush era of Don't Ask, Don't Tell. The openly gay actor is clearly rising as one of the great actors of our generation. We love to see it. Almost as much as we love to see those sex scenes of him from Netflix's Hollywood.

Brendan Fraser - The Whale

We seem to be in a nearly insufferable loop of reboot after reboot after reboot. But if there's one reboot I can definitely get behind, it's that of Brendan Fraser's career. Fraser was in box office hit after box office hit for the better part of a decade, and was also the source of many-a-young-homo's early crushes (*raises hand*). Though he seemed to slip into the shadows for the last 20 years, he's made a massive comeback in another A24 film The Whale, where he plays a gay man who is morbidly obese and trying to reconnect with his daughter. He received a six-minute standing ovation for the performance when the film premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, and another at the London Film Festival, as well.

Hugh Jackman - The Son

Speaking of early crushes: Daddy Hugh. Whew, there are few people in Hollywood I have a more massive crush on than Hugh Jackman. He's hot as fuck, he's got the voice of an angel, he dances like a dream, and he's got an accent that makes me want to go down under and stay there. Jackman is currently starring in the critically acclaimed The Music Man on Broadway, but it's his turn in The Son that's earned him his nomination for the Golden Globes this year. The Son, directed by Florian Zeller, is based on the Zeller's 2018 stage play of the same name and is a prequel to 2020's Oscar-winner, The Father, also by Zeller. I wonder if this Daddy win for The Son.

Austin Butler - Elvis

Austin Butler stars as the King of (stolen) Rock & Roll in this biopic that focuses on his relationship with his wife Priscilla and his wild relationship with manager Colonel Tom Parker (Tom Hanks). Butler was previously known to most for his roles in the Sex & The City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, as well as Quentin Tarantino's Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, but his hip-swaying performance in Elvis has garnered him his first Golden Globes nomination. He's giving Shawn Mendes sexiness, and to be honest I'm very here for it. Woof.

Bill Nighy - Living

Bill Nighy is one of those actors who has always kind of looked 70, and has always been sexy—he's like Patrick Stewart, but with hair. He's starring in the new film Living, where after spending his life as a properly reserved British civil servant, he finds out he has a terminal medical diagnosis. He makes the decision to move to the south coast of England to live up his final days.

Which hunk will take home a Golden Globe? Tune in January 10th on NBC to find out!
