Dirty Movie To Rent Of The Week: A Bigger Splash (1973)

I'm a huge fan of the 2015 film A Bigger Splash directed by Luca Guadagnino (and not just because of Matthias Schoenaerts' dingaling) so naturally I was curious to see the movie that I assumed A Bigger Splash was based on - the 1973 David Hockney documentary of the same name. But it turns out henty, that I was wrong.

After watching 1973's A Bigger Splash a couple of nights ago and seeing little to zero connections to the 2015 movie, I finally did some Spotlighting, and found out that Luca Guadagnino's A Bigger Splash - while titled after the famous Hockney painting of the same name  - is actually based thematically on a 1969 movie titled La Piscine. It has nothing to do with the 1973 documentary. At all.  "WOW WHAT A POINTLESS POST FULL OF USELESS HOT GARBAGE" - you rn.

And you're right rn. The silver lining to all of this is that I did indeed see the 1973 David Hockney documentary A Bigger Splash and did indeed witness some might hot homoerotic content! The film illuminates the influences behind many of Hockney's most notable works, including his beautiful lover Peter Schlesinger. It just so happens that 1973's A Bigger Splash was filmed during the height of the Golden Age of Porn, and it's hard not to see the influences here. We see Peter Schlesinger in a real live sex scene with an uncredited boy.

But the highlight of A Bigger Splash comes when this vintage beauty playfully splashes around with his friends buck nude in the pool.

Schlesinger also simply does a lot of walking around completely nude. When one of the most famous artists in the world has chosen you as his muse, why wouldn't you be this confident? I don't even walk around in clothes anymore.

Plus David Hockney himself even strips down to show off his package before taking a shower.
