Have you been keeping up with "One Erection?" If not, here's the run-down.

• There's some sexual tension between the members of One Erection.
• Allen King quits the band. To rebrand and build their image, they hire Chi Chi Larue.
• They all identify as straight, but none of them are.
• Tayte Hanson joins the group and fucks the manager, Jason Maddox. Allen King and Levi Karter (also a member) are in a secret relationship. Band member Liam Riley loves video extra Trenton Ducati, and Band Member Kody Stewart loves Nick Sterling.
• Liam Riley also has an alter ego, Bambi. 

And here we are at the last scene.

In more ways than one, the drama comes to a head in this final installment of One Erection: The Un-Making of a Boy Band as the group finishes their video shoot which Chi Chi and porn star hotshot Colby Keller is hired to play a "lumberjack."...And when Colby tries to leave after the shoot wraps, Liam once again stands in his way -- this time with Tayte and Kody backing him up. To his surprise however, Liam gets more than he bargains for when Colby gives the three an all-out fuck fest!

Along with the bio of the finale, Jake Jaxon included a rant.

In the rant he decried some of the criticism he's received on why the piece took so long to come out, and he praised the work of the cast and crew. He basically said that projects like this take time, and that he was so impressed with the footage, that he wanted the best product he could put out. He then said this:

More and more, I have become disheartened by the tone, tenor and cynicism in much of the porn space today. It's competitive when it does not need to be, with unrealistic expectations mixed with jealously, creating a toxic brew of bombastic vitriol that is just depressing. And to be fair, it's not just our little slice of "porn opera," it's now everyday with the Trumpifcation of life where everyone is shamed, ridiculed, and put down for what makes them different.

Nowadays, I seldom read other gay porn blogs - one of the reasons was that gay men are very critical. Gay men would many times point out what they hated about a scene, or a guy, instead of pointing out what they loved (I once saw a comment that said a porn model's eyes were too close together). 

Maybe some of the criticism is warranted.

That being said, I don't think this is one of those times. I bet the criticism against this project IS based around how long it took to come out, and I bet it's largely warranted. He talks about the "unrealistic expectations" of the porn industry, which I presume he means the ridiculous content schedules some houses try to maintain (like Men.Com, releasing a scene every day) which I've written about before. That being said, times have changed, and there's more porn than anyone needs, thus A LOT of distraction.

You DO NOT release a gay porn movie, with 5 scenes, inconsistently over the course of 9 months, and expect people to maintain interest. 

Why not wait until the whole series was ready to go, and release one scene a week, or a month, like Men.com does? Maybe some of the criticism is actually warranted this time.

Also...Trumpification...? Gay men have been criticizing things WAY before Donald Trump decided to run for president. That's just how gay men have always been, be it frustrating or not. 

So here's to you, "One Erection". You came, you excited us, WE came, you left, you came back, you frustrated us, you left, came back to cry wolf, and then you came back again, but we had moved on.

Now, let's ALL move on.
