D’Angelo Nominated For AMA! Remember When He Made You Explode?

Because I sure as hell do. It was the year 2000, and with the release of D'Angelo's music video for Untitled (How Does it Feel) off of his sophomore album "Voodoo," pants everywhere disappeared. They were just gone! Poof. No pants. And then everyone exploded all over themselves. WEIRD, RIGHT? D'Angelo possesses powers that we may never understand. 

It's been 15 years since I first saw the video for How Does it Feel and I still remember seeing those lips, those arms, those abs, and THAT V for the first time. How does that V make me feel? Really good thx. After the release of the infamous music video and the success of "Voodoo," D'Angelo dropped off the face of the earth while facing some personal struggles. You can read about them here, but they basically entail a lot of d to the rugs. that makes me feel sad. 

Thankfully the beauty got his ass in gear and released the critically acclaimed "Black Messiah" last December. Things keep getting better for D'Angelo, because he was recently nominated for Favorite Album - Soul/R&B at the 2015 American Music Awards!! I can't really tell anymore which awards shows are meaningless, but this is good enough for me! Let's go back to 2000 and explode one last time before seeing the awards on November 22nd.
