It looks as if the gay for pay world has just lost one of its finest, as Jonathan West has decided to become one of New York's finest. West is now going by his real name, Jonathan Jesensky, and in a move that I'm pleasantly surprised by, the New York Fire Department was aware of his porn past, and hired him with no reservations.
According to XBIZ (link below), Jesensky is a Marine who served in Iraq, and graduated at the top of his class to become a firefighter with Engine Company 71 in the Bronx.
The rookie was reportedly up front about his porn appearance from the very beginning. New York City does not discriminate when it comes to hiring people who have appeared in adult productions.
“The legal department is aware of his work history,” FDNY spokesman Jim Long said.
Although he has appeared in gay films, Jesesnky's performances were apparently "gay for pay." He said the porn work was just a job.
Jesensky is also not the first NYC firefighter to have a risqué past that the NYFD was willing to overlook.
Michael Biserta, of Ladder 121 in Red Hook, Brooklyn, posed naked and flanked by women in a 2004 "Guys Gone Wild" video shot before he joined the department that set off a few alarms at the NYFD.
But like Jesensky, Biserta was also candid about his porn appearance before his appointment and was not disciplined.
What a heart warming story. See guys, there are still places in this world that won't discriminate against those with a porn past.
