New Television Show “Kingdom” Brings the Drama and the Hunks

Like most television watching-obsessed gay men, I’m always flipping through my DirecTV channels, frustratingly flipping through a plethora of home improvement shows to find a decent series that will not only present a thought-provoking, intelligently-scripted drama, but also have a hunky cast of eye candy to indulge my desires for celebrity hotties in a state of undress. I finally found a show that fulfills all my previously mentioned desires.

If you’re looking for a good show to watch, check out the gritty drama Kingdom. Currently airing on the always-reliable Audience Network, the surprisingly entertaining drama is set to the backdrop of the rough and tumble subculture of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), and it stars Frank Grillo as Alvey Kulina, an MMA legend and owner of a gym based in Venice, California. Following in Alvey’s footsteps is Nate—played by the extra beefy Nick Jonas—the MMA legend’s prize-fighting son and the younger brother to Jay—the equally-as-hot Jonathan Tucker—an up-and-coming grappler with dreams of stardom. Interested yet?

Outside of the Kulina clan, there’s Ryan Wheeler (Matt Lauria), a world-class athlete who had the world in his hands but lost it all and had to do time in prison. But it’s not all fighting and submission holds, outside of the gym and the ring, Alvey spends time with his girlfriend Lisa Prince (Kiele Sanchez), who co-owns the gym, and he still has to deal with the drama of his ex-wife Christina (Joanna Going).

If the pilot episode is any indication of what we’re going to expect in regards to nudity, Kingdom is going to give us a royal flush of flesh. So far Jonathan Tucker has led the way with two butt-baring scenes: one while doggie-pounding his girlfriend, the other while playing shooting up with a gun in the middle of the night. Now that’s a pretty impressive ass!

Not to be forgotten, Matt Lauria adds a quick look of his ripped, tattoo-covered body while getting his photo taken by some weirdo dude during a funny scene with an Iron Maiden reference. At this point, I’m starting to think MMA is an acronym for “More Male Ass”, and time will tell if Kingdom can live up to the hype of its debut episode. I have my fingers tightly crossed.
