Judge Judy Gets The 411 On Grindr

TV/MOVIES

null

Judge Judy knows a lot about a variety of topics, but until this past Monday, she hadn't ever heard of Grindr. And frankly, why should a 70-year old Jewish woman know what Grindr is? Honestly.

Nevertheless, she gets it immediately. She catches on so quick, in fact, that it backfires in spectacular fashion on the defendant that brought it up in the first place. Take a look...

In case you can't watch the video, People has provided a handy play-by-play...

While hearing a case involving defendant Aaron Murphy and the much-older plaintiff Christopher Starnes, Judge Judy posed an obvious question: Where had the two men met?

Murphy attempted to explain the hookup app with a polite euphemism: They'd met, he said, on "a social web site." Upon further examination, the defendant admitted Grindr was "a social app that tells you where homosexual males are." But, he assured the judge, he was only on it trying to "make friends."

Baloney, said Judge Judy.

"You went on a particular web site," she reasoned. "If I were looking just to make friends, I wouldn't go on a web site just for little old Jewish ladies, I would try to expand my horizons a bit."

In the end, it didn't work out for Starnes anyway, since Judy decided that the money really was an unsolicited gift rather than a loan, but even still, Judy's sharper than anyone gave her credit for being. Right random Family Guy non-sequitur?
