Gay Guys Think ‘Charity’ Is Giving Money to Get Studs Naked

Sorry but pledging money to make a stage adaptation of seminal porn film "L.A. Tool and Die" become a reality is not like giving money to to a homeless shelter. But it is twice as much fun.

The producers of the show, which is going to start July 30 at a theater in West Hollywood, put an ad up on charity funding website Kickstarter a little more than a week ago and it already raised the $2500 it was looking for from wealthy fags who want to see sexy stars like Tom Colby in no clothing getting dirty in what we assume will be a fun and campy adaptation of the Joe Gage classic. As Gay Porn Blog points out original bear daddy star Richard Locke definitely has the bearded and blue-collar look over Colby, but we don't think that will matter to the theater queens who already pledged their money.

The 1979 original is about two guys traveling cross country to get to L.A. and having sex with other mechanics, auto workers, and other butch types. It is in Gage's signature style (that persists today) where the tension, longing glances, and intense sexual situations are even more potent than the actual fucking. We don't know how far the boys will go in the new show, but we assume they'll be playing up the silly retro porn stereotypes for laughs. After pleading—and receiving!—charity, this new theatrical gambit sure has a lot to live up to!
