It's no secret that we love the retro goodness of the Athletic Model Guild around here, so we're super stoked for "Bob's World," a new collection of photographer Bob Mizer's later color work. It's totally groovy.
The book doesn't come out until October 1, but we finessed our way into getting some of the spreads from the book from AMG and publisher Taschen, who are collaborating on the project. This is the first book that focuses entirely on Mizer's color work, and much of it has the oversaturated '70s look that would go on to influence artists like Pierre et Gilles and David LaChappelle. Sure, that's great and all, we just think it's hot. But hey, if you can call it culture too, then pass us the monocle. We'll try not to get anything sticky on it.
