Kaiserin: A Magazine For (Hot) Boys With Problems

Since we're lucky if our local periodical merchant still has a copy of last month's "Latin Inches" by the time we get there, we were happy to hear about the third edition of Kaiserin, a "militant and committed" Paris-based art magazine that debuted just over a year ago and has since racked up its share of comparisons to BUTT for its provocative mix of sex and subversion. A review in last month's issue of Attitude explains that the whole "boys with problems" thing is a reference to a Soft Cell song, but even well-adjusted types like ourselves can appreciate its finely curated selection of captivating photographs and writing. The new issue includes some gorgeous portraits by Brooklyn's own Paul Mpagi Sepuya and an intimate visit with Slovenian beauty Marko Brozic, who we understand has also been spotted on various runways this season -- even if according to that same Attitude review co-creator Arnaud-Pierre Fourtane claims that Kaiserin's models are usually "just guys we meet in bars or that the photographers know, normal guys, you know." We totally have to start hanging out where he does.
