Glace – Dancer Massager

The sex toy industry has seen a great deal of growth in recent years, numerous porn production companies jumping into the field as a means to supplement ever decreasing disc sales with profitable lines. Some of these focus on using generic products placed in packages adorned by contract stars, popular performers, or models that you are never going to lure into bed short of offering them lots of money. Others try to provide high quality products by teaming up with major toy companies in an effort to share the risk, and reward, of these ventures; often with medium to high end products. Still others offer a nice selection of value priced toys, not cheap crap that falls apart after a use or two, but a good balance between cost and quality that many of us can live with. Such is the case with the various sex “novelties” sold by NS Novelties (New Sensation/Digital Sin). Today’s review is for the Glace Dancer Massager, a moderate sized bullet vibrator I found to be very stimulating.

Okay, aside from the fact that there are different colors to chose from (mine lit up blue, lit by LED lights, with the bullet a standard black), the various models of this one were the same, a battery housing connecting to the vibrating bullet by a two foot plastic cord, the device plugging into the battery housing but permanently attached and sealed to the bullet. This was a larger bullet than I’m used to, think of it as a super sized pocket rocket, the plain cardboard package listing it as being made out of ABS plastic and RoHS compliant (often referred to as phthalate free). Yes, it was designed in Los Angeles but made in China (like most toys these days, adult toys and kid toys by the way), no noticeable odor coming from it when I opened the box and removed it from the clear plastic housing.

The product uses 3 type “N” batteries, a smaller version of the AAA batteries so many other devices use these days, the box containing said batteries so you don’t have to go hunting some down to have fun. There were 7 vibration patterns that could be accessed one after the other by pressing the small button on the front of the battery housing unit (the one that lights up), the first few being straightforward though the later patterns provided increasing vibrations to the point where it was one of the stronger vibrators in its class and price range, the MSRP being a mere $18.30. I bed tested it with my GF and she thought it was a fun toy to use as an outside vibrator (not for insertion) since the company website said it was not waterproof. There was one ridge on the bullet portion of the device to speak of, a thin edge that you should not have issues with as we did not.

The toy lasted over two hours and survived the usual submersion test with the generic batteries contained in the toy, more juice left in them than the two of us to be sure. She rubbed it on her nipples, clitoris, and ass to see how the vibrations would work for her, cleaning it off for a second round by rubbing it on me as she performed various foreplay tricks to spice things up. In that sense, and for the modest price, the toy was a winner for us. It might not be the most expensive toy on the market (a selling point for us by the way, though some demand exclusivity by overpricing such toys), but it performed aptly and did not give us any troubles. There was no sign of leakage either, the device pretty quiet for its type too.

My GF suggested we wrap it in a condom if we are going to insert it into all the usual places, this making retrieval easier as well as ensuring the water resistant device stay with us for a long, hard time, the hard plastic bullet having no “give” so use plenty of lubricant if insertion is on your menu. I don’t have a lot of experience with NS Novelty products at this writing, and my GF tends to want toys to explore acts outside of my comfort zone (“You’ll love it”, she claims) but I liked this one a lot more than I thought I would so I rated it as at least Recommended for the ease of use, the fact that it has batteries coming with it, the price, and the assorted reasons listed above. I would have liked a more secure cord (longer too), a device that used more standardized batteries, and ideally, a toy made in the USA out of higher quality materials with some give to them but for this price range, it definitely should be considered as a good choice for those not making it into the economic 1% we hear so much about. If it dies anytime soon, I will update the review but there was no indication of any problems after a couple of weeks of pretty solid testing so far (the batteries finally weakening after an estimated four or five hours over the first week of use). In short, the Glace Dancer Massager was a good toy for couples to explore their kinks a bit at a price that few can argue against so check it out.
