While there are times when a smaller, less expensive vibrator is in order, there are also times when a larger, more powerfully equipped, and entertaining toy fits the bill.  As a consumer advocate, I've found all sorts of shapes and sizes come into play when it came to sex toys, just as I've noticed there appears to be a market for every type of porn so what sets some toys apart from others?  Well, in the case of the Dream Maker by Evolved Novelties in their Waterproof Nocturnal Emissions line, complexity is the name of the game as much as any other factor.

The basic toy itself is a vibrator with a clitoral stimulator (bullet on the end of the rabbit shaped stem), measuring about 10" long (much less of that is insertable under normal circumstances) and 3.75" around at the widest point.  While this is a standard style on the face of it, the difference is the wealth of options you get when you open this puppy up for business.  It takes 4 AAA batteries (that drain pretty quickly due to the power requirements so stock up before deploying this mighty missile) and the holder that they fit in is shaped so there is no guessing whether or not you put them in correctly.

The purple color was interesting enough (Nadine's favorite, I believe) and the insertable portion is wrapped in the usual phathalate free TPR jelly material the company uses on half its toys (the base consists of the harder material the rest of their line is made of).  The Chinese made device does not work off a simple button on the bottom though; no, it has a series of controls (pictured) that allow for a reported 600+ combinations of twists and vibrations that are signified by the blue LED lights that are provided in a star pattern on the front. 

One side works the vibrator and various rhythms (steady, pulsating, intermittent, building up, and a mix of several others) while the other works the shaft that twists and turns in a number of ways that are tough to describe.  The "ecstasy discs" in the shaft can be made to rotate in a number of ways, positioned very nicely for stimulating the labia majora while the clit is stimulated by the stem.  The toy tested waterproof too though in this case, the battery chamber seemed less protected, perhaps because it was so far away from the penetrative portions of the shaft.

According to Nadine, there was enough flexibility to allow her to grind into it when she hit a sweet spot in the programming, the controls best used by a partner from what she told me both during and after the sessions we engaged in.  Finding a particular pattern that works best for you might take some effort as well, the notion of going right for the highest setting not as interesting as exploring the whole gamut of options provided, mere dozens tested by us during the testing phase of the evaluation. 

The price was on the high end for most people but someone has to keep the Chinese employed and frankly, Nadine had minimal recommendations for Evolved to make this one even better.  We discussed rating this as the top rating but figured we needed more experience with it, settling for a rating of Highly Recommended for those of you that can afford it (it's available for around $70), the sheer versitility better than most toys reviewed here in some time.  For those interested, here is the story of Evolved according to their website:
