Gay social media has gone crazy today with the news that popular gay adult star Austin Wolf has been arrested on charges of distributing child pornography. Wolf, charged under his legal name Justin Heath Smith, allegedly distributed hundreds of incriminating videos.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Southern District of New York, released a press release this morning detailing the charges. The charges allege Wolf used Telegram to send and receive hundreds of videos with some disturbing content, with a victim as young as an infant. They also found hundreds of videos at his Manhattan apartment. The press release urges anyone with more information about Wolf’s conduct to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.
FBI Assistant Director in Charge James Smith stated:
“I want to make it clear: those who distribute child sexual abuse images prey upon the most vulnerable in our society. Each image is a crime scene, leaving lasting scars on innocent victims. The FBI is relentless in our pursuit of these perpetrators. We will track them down, arrest them, and ensure they face justice for the harm they cause.”
The press release goes into detail regarding the investigation. Starting on March 24, Wolf set up an anonymous Telegram account to exchange the content with someone else whose phone was taken by the FBI after a search warrant was issued. They assigned an undercover FBI agent to interact with Wolf’s Telegram, that is how they determined that it was Wolf. On April 21st, the FBI searched Wolf’s apartment finding more evidence.
Wolf is 43 years old and is charged with one count of distribution and receipt of child pornography, and one count of possession of child pornography. The first count comes with a minimum 5-year prison sentence with a max of 20 years, and the second account comes with a maximum of 10 years in prison.
In addition to this being deplorable behavior, this does not bode well for the adult industry as a whole as conservative politicians are sweeping the nation with restrictions and age verification for adult websites, using minor protection as the motivation. This kind of news just plays into that fervor.
Austin, as of this report, has not made a public statement. He has removed the comment capability on his Instagram and has not been active on X. Most of his X posts refer to “little boys.”
Social media comments regarding the allegations are full of the community saying that it was a long time coming and that no one was surprised. It will be interesting to see if any other members of the adult industry are brought down from this investigation.
