One of our favorite adult film veterans Brian Bonds is back in heat for Friends in Heat Season 2, produced by the independent film studio that could, Luxxxe Studios. A throwback to gay porn from the VHS era, this series is high-drama soap opera meets hot men in heat. From the marketing to the production, it captures all those elements of the porn of yesterday that we loved so much.

Taking place two years after the end of Friends in Heat Season 1, Brian Bonds' Darryl McDaniels and Justin Yurmouth's Jake Carmichael are newly engaged and are seeking the advice of Judge Zach Ramsey, played by Luxxxe Studios exclusive Jayden Jaxx. When Jake runs late to the meeting, Darryl must keep the judge occupied somehow. Let's just say the scene goes from a twosome to a threesome. In addition to heating up the screen, Brian has been an advocate and activist for the HIV+ community within the adult community, trying to educate on the facts and eradicate the stigma that exists. With over a decade under his belt in the industry, he's been working behind the scenes as well. We caught up with Brian in between our binge-watching of the series...plenty of Kleenex were used.

You've been in the adult entertainment industry for 12 years now, what has your journey been like?

My journey has given me the opportunity to go to so many places I’ve only ever seen on TV. The people I’ve met have completely changed my life along with so many experiences that I never thought I’d ever have. My confidence has soared, especially after getting into shape and exposing my body and the hard work I’ve put into it.

How has porn changed in the time you've been in the industry?

When I first started in porn, it really felt as though being in the industry truly meant something more than seeing who could be the top .01% on OnlyFans. There was an actual stardom aspect of being a porn star, getting booked for club appearances, being on DVD covers and magazines, getting booked for live sex shows at places like the Nob Hill Theatre in San Francisco. Also, the hustle is so much harder nowadays that porn feels more like a competition with everybody in the world.

You're a fisting enthusiast, any advice for guys wanting to try it for the first time?

Most definitely find somebody with small hands if you haven't already been using anal-stretching dildos. And also remember to use plenty of lube such as K Lube or J lube, or any type of fisting lube.

You're featured in the new Friends In Heat from Luxxxe Studios. What has it been like working with them?

As I have always said, it is an honor to help my buddy to kickstart his own studio by being in his first feature series. JD definitely tries very hard to make sure that his models have a good experience, and he really has the passion to bring about a very good product.

You've filmed many scenes, do you have a favorite?

I would definitely have to say that my favorite scene would be the scene with Boomer Banks in the movie, "Breaking the Bond," where he fisted me while I sounded.

You're open about your advocacy for HIV+ models in the industry and reducing the stigma around it; firstly I want to commend you for your activism; next, what has that journey been like for you?

The journey towards fighting HIV stigma in the industry has really not been an easy one. We do have quite a few advocates and allies, who will help stand up against the stigma whenever they can, but there are a lot of people in the bisexual, trans, and straight side of the industry who need to learn more info when it comes to HIV health. Ever since becoming positive, there have been a lot of doors that have closed for me — there are a few smaller studios here and there that have cracked those doors back open. But not just for me, but for all who are HIV-positive and want to be in the industry, especially trans women and cis women. They aren’t allowed at studios at all if they’re HIV+.

What's next for Brian Bonds?

I’ve been moving behind camera a lot lately in the past 7 years. So I’m going to keep working on that more, but I still won’t turn down any video opportunities that come my way. But as I’m getting older and realizing that 12 years of porn and sex work can kinda wear on you. I’ve also been considering some other options.
