AJ’s Screening Room: Michael Fassbender Can’t Get Enough in the NC-17 Flick SHAME

We’ve all had those days where you’re too horny to focus on anything productive and are being bullied by our brimming balls to go scroll through Grindr or open up that incognito tab. These days are more frequent for some more than others, and then there are those who experience this horned-up hell on the regular. In Steve McQueen’s 2011 NC-17-rated flick Shame, Michael Fassbender portrays sex addict Brandon, who is struggling to balance his job, his fractured relationship with his sister, and his inability to connect with others aside from physically. All of that and, oh yeah, his constant need to f*ck.

This movie provides quite the mind f*ck. Your brain is taking in the devastation of our protagonist and the grasp that sex had over his existence. At the same time, you can’t help but grow a fatty in your chinos watching Michael Fassbender uncontrollably fuck his brains out with quite literally anything that moves.

The film takes place in New York City, which only adds to the anonymity and transactional nature of our hero's sexploits. In a city of over 8 million people, it is far too easy to find and f*ck ready and willing trade that you're likely to not run into again, not unless you want to that is. Then there's that scene that shows us all the splendor of the floor-length windows of the Standard Hotel. If only the film got around to showcasing some of the other prime hook-up spots that are riddled throughout the property.

Fassbender's performance is perfection. He conveys the mind-splitting turmoil that one plagued with a sex addiction experiences. Although his troubled sister, played by the exquisite Carrie Mulligan, pops back into his life in need of support (she's dealing with her own issues with depression and self-harm), older brother Fassbender is unable to provide her with the care she so desperately needs while still satiating his cravings for the flesh. Who the f*ck are their parents?

Dark themes aside, Shame showcases so much more than top-tier acting and melancholic cityscapes of New York. Grab a ticket number, the Butcher shop is open and there is oh-so-much meat on the menu. Fassbender goes full-frontal for the greater part of the film. When he's not walking around his apartment stark naked with his cock swinging back and forth like a grandfather clock, he is fucking his brains out all across the city. From lunchtime hookups to threeways, he can't seem to get enough. For all my gays out there, Fassbender also has a hot and heavy public hookup with a sexy dude under the ambiance of red lighting that only establishments like The Eagle NYC or The Cock could provide.

Get that box of tissues ready. Whether you're dabbing your tears or your precum, you're going to need it. Best to watch this one from the comfort of your own home. We wouldn't want a repeat of the Peewee Herman movie theatre incident.
