Undiscovered Dick: Axel Rockham. The Hard-Bodied Former Stripper Talks Joining Sean Cody, Politics & Pokémon.

PORN GALLERIES

Undiscovered Dick is our column featuring porn newbies, fresh faces, web cammers, or just sexy guys in general whom you should keep your eye on.

Pretty much anybody can get a little attention in the porn industry simply by being hot, but to become a true Porn Star the performer has to have something extra. Up-and-coming Sean Cody performer Axel Rockham definitely has that something!

Yes, he's got a killer body and a model handsome face (he was actually a "legit" model before joining OnlyFans), but Axel has a seriousness and charisma that will no doubt make him a sensation in the industry. He also has a great heart and mind that he is applying to his advocacy work in politics promoting health care for sex workers and the LGBTQ+ community!

He shared with us his journey to joining the industry, and his very important work as a political activist and sexual health advocate. Subscribe to his OnlyFans and follow him on Twitter, Instagram and TikTok before reading on for our Undiscovered Dick interview with Axel Rockham.

What brought you to the adult industry?

It's been a bit of a journey because I've always had a tangential interest since my early teens, but never fully committed because of social and professional factors. I started dancing at a bar in Atlanta called Swinging Richards when I was 21, right when I moved there from NYC, and it was fully nude - so you could say I've been in the industry for a while. The older I got, the more frustrated I became with the expectations of society. I also felt that my sexuality had been weaponized against me my whole adult life. It was just something I no longer felt like I wanted to participate in. If I am being entirely honest, I also think I am actually really good at this, so if I can turn this into something fruitful, why not?

You've mostly done OnlyFans so far. Do you have ambitions to move to studio productions?

I do, and as a matter of fact, I have already shot one solo scene with Sean Cody and am slated to return to shoot something even more interesting!

What is your favorite scene you've done so far?

I have a scene on OnlyFans with another creator known as "anonbttmmia". Before I started making my own content, he asked me to make content with him, and I have known him since I was 21; we actually used to dance together at Swinging Richards. We made a few videos (where both of our identities are obscured, but people who know my body still recognized me!), but my favorite is the one where he blows me and then rides me wearing a Pikachu hat, which was another giveaway as to who I was because people know I love Pokemon and have a special relationship with the franchise's most featured character. It's my favorite because he and I have been very close for nearly a decade, have had an untold amount of sex, I am the most comfortable with him because we are both the same level of nasty, and it's always a great time with him.

What are some things on screen (or off) that you still want to do? Why?

That's a great question because I don't really like to deny myself exploring something that really interests me. Obviously, I've not done it all, but I certainly have done quite a lot. One thing that I am looking forward to and am certain will be around the corner now that I'm in the biz is performing in a live show. I've had an audience before, but not more than just a handful of people.

You are very politically active. Tell us about your work.

A lot of people find this to be strange and unexpected, but my opinion is that virtually everybody should be politically active. I am from Trenton, New Jersey, a very inner city neighborhood, and have my own experiences and perspective of being in a certain economic class. I have had the opportunity to move around New Jersey to school districts with a different racial makeup and there was a pattern of the level of funding and success that became glaringly apparent to me. I would later learn that this would be a function of how our public schools are funded, but this wasn't what spurred my interest. When Donald Trump announced his candidacy, I had an open mind. I knew absolutely nothing about politics and very little understanding of history (another function of a not-so-great education) so I was very open to hearing his message. He promised healthcare for everyone, which was of particular interest to me after having an appendectomy while uninsured and it cost me dearly, for instance. But it didn't take me very long to see what was really driving his message and it horrified me. When he narrowly won, I relentlessly researched how he and the Republican Party would impact governance and grew to love and appreciate what our federal government is supposed to be.

Since then, I have invested heavily in sparking conversations through social media. I recently started a TikTok where all I do is discuss politics. I was in DC during the George Floyd protests and was present when then President Donald Trump forcefully moved protestors from the space in front of Lafayette Square to take a picture at the church (my best friend, who I dragged with me, was extremely upset with me for that) and even got myself arrested for violating the curfew. I made a GOTV video during the runoff election in 2021 to get both of my senators elected. I was told that I was wasting my time because Georgia is solidly Republican, but that only seems like the case because of gerrymandering and voter suppression. But we won, Georgia elected its first Black and Jewish senators who are doing fantastic work, and in 2022, I know that we will re-elect Senator Raphael Warnock for a full 6-year term.

How do you plan to tie in your political activism with your porn work?

I am still trying to figure all of these details out because this is very new to me, but I certainly plan on conveying the message that we only get to be who we are and live freely because of politics. Many people say they don't like to get political, but I want them to realize that everyone else who wants something IS getting political. If you choose not to participate, you risk going backward, as we've seen with the overturning of Roe v Wade and the not-so-veiled threat against marriage equality, contraception, and even the legality of homosexuality. Did you know that South Carolina legislators proposed forcing manufacturers to put a block on all equipment that can view porn unless you pay a $20 tax to get it lifted? That same year, a Republican-backed resolution in Utah passed that declared porn a public health hazard.

The conservative movement in this country is radicalizing and they mean business. That's not to say that the industry can't evolve in ways to be more responsible; for sure, porn does normalize violence against women and I think performers need to be more vocal about behaving ethically. To that end, I've been proudly working with a company called Mistr, hopefully, you and your readers are familiar with us, but we distribute PrEP and STI testing through telehealth services. It's really convenient and we are even opening physical store locations throughout the country. Our insured patients help subsidize the cost for our uninsured patients, which is great for ensuring equitable access. I've been using them for a while and I recommend that you do, too. As I continue exploring this new career, I will look for ways to incorporate civic engagement while still keeping it sexy.

How did you get involved with Mistr?

I have a friend in Atlanta who needed models to help promote Mistr at NYC Pride and Provincetown over 4th of July weekend and Bear Week. It was a really great experience because I got to march in the Pride parade in NYC and meet some great people, including the owner of the company, Tristan, who is quite the enterprising spirit and constantly thinking of ways to expand the brand's reach and operations. I've only just gotten started, but I am looking forward to seeing what else this opportunity can bring and getting this message out there.

These healthcare-providing efforts are so important. How did this become such a passion for you?

I have my own experience dealing with the shambolic healthcare system in this country, as do many millions of Americans in this country, and I've learned so much more since involving myself in politics. But I became much more involved in this particular aspect during the pandemic. I was anxious to play as big of a part as I could and became a volunteer for Moderna during the trial for their experimental mRNA vaccine. At the same time, I had the fortunate opportunity to work for the Georgia Department of Public Health under the Fulton County Board of Health at a testing site. As the vaccine became more widely available and the new administration rolled out an aggressive mobilization of distribution, I got to be part of the largest vaccination campaign in history when they moved my team over the Mercedes-Benz Stadium to get as many people as we could vaccinated. That was a really gratifying experience. Shortly after that, I worked for a healthcare staffing company based in Atlanta as a recruiter where I helped overwhelmed and understaffed healthcare facilities place clinicians.

Tell us a little about yourself outside of sex work. Who are you? What are some of your hobbies and interests?

The most fun part about me, I think, are my obsessions with Pokemon and House music. I am not always as serious as my previous answers may make me sound, I promise I am actually a child at heart! My license plate on my car reads "P1KACHU," the joke being that I drive an electric car, which Pikachu is famously known to be powered by. I love horror movies, specifically survivor horror like Zombies. My favorite colors are black and blue, which I really lean on because virtually everything that I own is in that color scheme.

My obsession with House music might be the one thing that everyone truly knows me by and can be universally appreciated. I just love it, I think it's so much fun, and everyone around me tells me that they started to like it because of me. I really enjoy seeing people have fun and I even started DJing myself and have been working legitimately as an artist getting booked for events. I perform under my real name, Axel Roldos, but the joke is also that I am the Speaker of the House - with speaker and House being the operative words. All my mixes are called House Bills or Senate Bills and are available on my SoundCloud
